I pronounce my winner .......

SoCalGeek - mentions ''Kimber'' ... in all seriousness that is one nice sounding name .... and could easily be a shortened version of ''Kimberly''

THAT .. gets my unanimous vote!:)

Kimber sounds nice.

I also like Colt for a boy, I've heard it before and don't think it so obviouse.

Winchester...kind of snooty sounding.

Mak...from Makarov

Uzi....makes a good nick name for the first few years...lol

Savage or Marlin, I've heard of these as people names before.

How about Henry? or Henrietta for a girl. From Henry rifles.

Saiga???

UZi = Uziel, I think

Wadcutter Boresnake Leade Magnaport Smith

Or naming him/ her "Action Express," "Winchester Super Magnum," "Mannlicher  ," "M16A4," or "Raging Bull (hmmm... that actually sounds cool)..." :D

My father's new young neighbors named their son Colt. When they got him his first dog, they named it Ruger.

regards

Baby Names

OK, for a boy, Mikhail Simonov Mannlicher or Pietro Beretta Carcano. Other contenders: Remington Winchester Weatherby (damn, that is an upper crust, off the Mayflower WASP combination!), Moses Garand Savage, Walther Gustav Koch.
Girl: Astra Browning, Olympia Mauser.

I'll use "Smith" as a surname on these.

How about :

Lee Enfield Smith

Martini Henry Smith

I'm planning on Ogive for a girl, Meplat for a boy. My wife just rolls her eyes...

One of the members here has a daughter named Sig(ourney), a son named Colt, and a grandson named Remington.

My paternal Grandpa called me Buckshot and Ramrod. I've adopted the Buckshot nick for my first grandson, and my second grandson is Birdshot. Sometimes, though, they're just "Shotgun" and "Tater." :D

My son is named Remington. Other than trying to write it in Kindergarten, I still like the name. It is an old English name as well as a gun company. There was a famous hunter named Remington as well.

Kimber is a very nice sounding name.
CZ or Cee Zee (CZ 75)
Annie of Annie Oakley.
Bell, (Bell Starr)
Kitty, after Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke, but she was a Madam.
Bonnie from Bonnie & Clyde.
Cassidy from Butch Cassidy.
Dalton, Dalton brothers.
Jesse, Jesse James. Jesse could be a girls name.

That was fun!

howsa bout "kalash?"

That's actually a common name in some african countries, it symbolies "hard won freedom" (yes, it does come from kalashnikov, the gun used to win that hard won freedom)

From an interview with Kalashnikov:

"Why do people always ask me about the damage it has brought? Many countries who have used the weapon have won themselves freedom. Look at Mozambique. On their flag they have the AK-47," Kalashnikov said.

"Once, when I met the defence minister there, he told me that...soldiers returning home started naming their children 'Kalash'. Come and see, he said, in every village you will find 10 kids named Kalash. That is not an insignificant thing."

Gaston (Glock) & Pietro (Beretta)

Joshua Heron (Randle) the Steve McQueen character on WANTED: dead or alive.

say hello to my little friend......

I lucked out.My grandson picked up the nickname "Boomer",from his father, supposedly for the sound he makes when he loads his diaper.Looks like it's going to stick, too.

Wilson (Will for short)

Passing off middle names is easier. Remington, Baer, Winchester... all make decent middle names (if you *really* love the brand that much).

I think I'll name my first born P220. Start a trend. When all the good names are taken, go with nubers ;)
