Handgun you trust your life with?

Out of all the handguns you may have carried or may be carrying now, what ones do you trust your life with? i.e., the most reliable?

For me it would be S&W stainless J, K and L-frame revolvers and a recently manufactured Browning Hi Power.
I have several that fall into this category. I frequently pocket carry a S&W Scandium .357, and have absolute faith it its reliability, but not necessarily my ability to hit well with it. My two belt carry guns are a Sig 226 and a Gen 4 G23. I have absolute confidence in both, but generally carry the g23 exclusively these days due to size and comfort. Due to being more shootable than the snubby, I belt carry the Glock everywhere but work. Good holsters are paramount; both my Sig and G23 ride in High-noon slide guard rigs. They have a lengthy wait time and are pricey, but far cheaper then the dozens of "cheaper" rigs I went through before biting the bullet. Extremely comfortable under an UN-tucked shirt.

If can't trust it why own it.

I have a old Interarms PPK/s one of my 1st carry guns. It has been a great carry pistol Reliable as can be with ball or HP . I have owned other Interarms PPK/s after this one and they were reliable also . Never understood the PPK/s is unreliable . Same with KelTecs , have 6 in house oldest one 10 yrs old still going strong

.

Mine is a S&W 642 loaded with 135gr Speer Gold Dots. I've been carrying it for years. Hope I never have to use it.

I have 2 & will be adding a 3rd.

S&W J-frame - Model 38-0
Taurus 905B2 - 9mm revolver

The one I want to add is a Ruger SP101.
I had one in the past & sold it to finance a "no-longer-made" blued 3" GP100.

I've got a number of them. My Wilson Combat CQB Compact, Springfield Armory TRP, Springfield Armory MC Operator, Sig Sauer P226, HK USP Compact .40, and HK P2000. I've run a lot of ammo through each one with no problems with the exception of the occasional hard primer when using cheap ammo, and in the case of the 1911's, I occasionaly encountered problems with certain magazines not wanting to drop free (MecGar and Shooting Stars).

My Charter Arms 38 Undercover and 32 H&R mag Undercoverette I definitely trust. I have a Beretta Pico, but I am not as confident with it. It functions fine, but is more difficult to shoot accurately, but when space is extremely limited it is better than no gun.

I trust my p224 above all others. I have never had any sort of malfunction out of it. It even cycles ammo that my M&P can't.

Basically any of them. If not, I wouldn't have them any more.

Glock 26, Glock 19, H&K VP9, S&W 642, Ruger GP100.

I've been particularly impressed with my VP9 at the range, it even feeds empty spent cases if I load them into the magazine...pretty sure there's no possible JHP bullet tip/profile it will have an issue with. So barring adverse conditions...like sand or dirt or water...it's 16 round capacity + eats everything + biggest semi auto I have (easiest to shoot) would make it a good choice in handgun.

But then I'd be even more trusting that my GP100 will work, given quality ammo of course, and .357 magnum 125gr GDHP will surely do as much as you can hope from a handgun.

And Glocks are Glocks, doesn't matter what the conditions are like or what has happened to the gun, I would expect it to work just as well.

For EDC, it's my S&W 642 with 135gr Gold Dots.

For HD, it's a S&W M13 with Buffalo Bore FBI loads.

Everyone I carry. Like one of the previous posters said - I don't buy junk. All are tested and proven. If I carry it, then of course I trust my life to it.

So- does the criminal think the same way?

Ruger P89, Ruger GP100, Glock 19, Beretta M9, Smith&Wesson Shield. The little Bodyguard 380 that I carry and if I had to the M&P22 pistol that I have. Oh and the single action Heritage 22 reolver if I really had to. It goes boom every time.

All are dang reliable. I see ammo as more of a problem. You go to "war" with the Army that you have. hahaha

All of mine. I don't buy garbage and I don't keep failures. Except the PPK, but I think it's cool and has some aesthetic value. Wouldn't bet my life on it though.
I have to agree, I don't own one handgun that I wouldn't bet my life on. I have S&W and Colt revolvers, Kimber and GLOCK autos. Even had a Taurus 445 or something in .44 Spl, it never failed.

Only had one piece of junk, a Charter Arms Bulldog bought new in 2005. That gun was so bad that after the first outing I sold it.
