Hi-Point 10mm NEW PISTOL

Their website says
9mm: 29 oz
380: 29 oz
40: 35 oz
45: 35 oz
10mm: 49 oz

The 9 and 380 have smaller frames and shorter barrels, so this difference in weight is not fully accounted by the mass of the slide. However, the 10 mm version is the heaviest of them.
3 pond gun!!! lol yes

That's more than my LAR Grizzly .45 win mag.

Hard pass. Not that I was gonna buy one anyway, this just galvanizes my position

$199 seems like a lot of money for a club/boat anchor….
;)

For the cost of a few boxes of 10mm ammo someone with little money to spare and living in a bad neighborhood could own a something that might not be good enough for the gun snobs, but it may save their life.
I'm not in the gun snob clique, so i think i'm going to buy one....just because. The 1006s need a break anyway.

I have a very limited budget AND I live in a bad neighborhood in Murderapolis, MN. The first stimulus check paid for my Sig P365. I could have bought something cheaper, but I decided that my life was worth the extra money. I cut my budget in other areas. As I determined that having a spare pistol was a necessity, I carefully budgeted and two years later I had saved enough to buy a Sig P365XL. Where there is a will there is a way.

If a Hi-Point is your only option, then buy one as it is better than nothing. But if your are really on a tight budget you would be better off with a cheap 9mm pistol so you can also afford range time and the ammunition for target practice.

I’m far from a gun snob. I don’t care what a gun looks like or costs. Just if it is reliable.

I have zero issues with the HiPoint carbines, which by most any account is a reliable firearm. It’s the pistols I’ve seen fail pretty regularly. I have a friend who swears by the HiPoint .40’s…but every time we’ve shot, it’s had issues. Seen the same thing with the 9’s.

I hope the are reliable. My limited experience says they are a hit or miss product.

I see it has a threaded barrel. Thus, I cannot own it here. It has been proven that threaded barrels cause urban crime, domestic violence, insurrections, rampages in malls and fail to deter bears from attacking you.

Otherwise I would be interested. If only Scotus frees us from the dreaded threaded barrel ban!

Actually, if Hi-points run and you are a poorer person, more power to them for making a SD gun.

ask the rest of the world if they would love a $200 10mm handgun!!!

You are certainly correct on this, but I think the jokers who presented Hi-Point as a viable melee weapons realize it too. They made a joke, is all.

By the way, if you ever field strip it I found out the hard way the slide retention pin is NOT magnetic........... Hi-Point is sending me a new one.
what?? a $200 gun does not have a magnetic pin…. you know you can magnetize that pin by doing something to it!!!

From yeet cannon to YEET CANNON

I think these will sell like hotcakes to dudes up here in Alaska to keep in their cabins, side by sides, fishing boats, etc.

Disposable stash gun that can be used for wildlife defense. At least until someone comes out with a $200 magnum revolver.

I think this poster makes an excellent point. And I do agree if someone gets one and it runs reliably, it would be a good “stash” gun.

or a survival Kit gun… Like for friends and family. Have that and a few boxes of ammo in the survival bags.
