One day the greedy controlling sociopaths will push just a little too far. I really don't want to be around when that last straw finally breaks the camel's back.
Where does that number come from? Time after time I have seen/heard/read 80 million gun owners...I'd like to believe that the actual numbers is 150 million, but I will not believe something single source. The NRA and the fact that no standing army can take on 150 million (legal) American gun owners
Looks like a good reason to buy all I can before next January.
Its amazing that she did that and that there hasnt been more uproarSo let's say for one horrible moment they ban assault rifles again. Will they also ban the ammo, as it's used in hunting rifles also, and any gun can be converted if the money is there. In other words a lot of small companys, will develop a conversion kit for 223, to say 243, with not much engineering genius other than re chambering and changing the barrell and magazine. What would they do with owners of exhisting weapons that fall into the assault weapon catagory, we have seen them turned into 9mm, etc, it would seem that they, "the govt", would want the rifles themselves optimally. And thats never going to happen. There would suddenlly be millions of gun thefts if they tried that. And some states don't keep records on who has what anyway, most of my original guns have been traded of sold off in a 40 year period, I don't have 1 original gun left that I bought. So it would likelly affect "new gun" sales. Most folks already have what they want, or as mentioned have time to purchase them now. Ginesburg said last week, that she was working with and old document, "in a discussion with the Egyption president", and how she envied the fact that the Egyptian constituion, was more modern and up to date than our old thing. In my eyes a supreme court justice should be fired on the spot for eluding to the constitution as out of date.
You hit the nail on the head!IMO, this is a large portion of what the upcoming Presidential election is all about. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE NOMINATIONS. Obama will get at least one, and maybe two during his next term, and it will change our Constitution and gun rights forever.
In 6 months, it'll all be forgotten, and John Q. Public will go back to American Idol and Jerry Springer.
The people who were on the ball about this were warning that it has been ready to fall for years now! I licken it to the people who never look up. Penny on the bet that there that come the second term, there will be a ban. Please don't take this the wrong way, but most of you folks are suffering from can't see for shinola. You sound like you just woke up and realized that the current administration has suddenly and without warning decided to take your guns. Folks, they have been trying to disarm us for years. IIRC, Thomas Jefferson said," The cost of liberty is eternal vigilance." We've seen this before and we'll see it again.

We have been edging ever so little towards the ruin of the second amendment. And not just by one party. Now with president Obama the gloves are off. I thought the shoe would finally fall in his second term when he didn't have to worry about being reelected. But I'm beginning to fear that he might let lose on us before the election. If he becomes convinced he won't be reelected, his only support reduced to those who want the Constitution to fall, and he has nothing else to lose he may do as much damage as possible before being ousted. When Clinton left office he left the White House in disarray... Obama may leave the country in that condition. The people who were on the ball about this were warning that it has been ready to fall for years now! I licken it to the people who never look up. They may ATTEMPT to put in place a ban, but without the votes in Congress, which they don't have, its not going to happen. They cant arbitrarily institute a ban just because they may want oneIf there is a second term with Holder, then they will put in place a ban.
We're not talking legislation here, it's about authoritarian rule. Obama decides to do something, Holder and the DoJ enforce it, the legislature isn't able to agree to fight it, we're stuck with it. One thing I've learned with the current administration, if they decide to break the Constitution and neither the DoJ or congress brings it to the Supreme Court, we can't do much but wait for the next election (and we know how that might work out). They may ATTEMPT to put in place a ban, but without the votes in Congress, which they don't have, its not going to happen. Yes, tons of us saw it coming for years, but unfortunately, there are also tons of "us" who chose to put their head in the sand. They didn't learn after the Clinton gun ban, and they chose not to learn with Obama.Originally Posted by Ky Larry View Post
