How well do you know your guns?

I didn't know that .338 Lapua was a rifle, not a caliber. And I couldn't really care less about Patton's gun grip preferences. But I got the rest right.

I wasn't aware it was a rifle either, I always thought it was a caliber.
 
What does the NY police policy on issue weapons have to do with anybodys knowledge of guns ?

Pretty lousy excuse for a knowledge about guns questionaire. More of a trivia test. Good thing I had a few minutes to waste.
 
A nice little quiz I got 85% the first time and 100% the second time :):):)

What I don't know about New York can fill a library but it wasn't hard to guess Beretta. I haven't seen them used by any agency outside the US military. Not that I know a lot about these things, I don't.
 
Too many badly written questions.

James Bond's gun of choice was a Beretta 25. The PPK 32 was forced on him, by M. And even then he sneaked the Beretta off M's desk, only to get stopped at the office door. "Leave the Beretta, Oh Oh Seven."
 
I know a lot about MY guns. Heck, I even named them. Hejduk is one of my VZ-24s. The other VZ-24 is Smetana. My Garand is named Patton. My first finn-captured 91-30 is named Sibelius, and I have another gun named Hrabosky. I'll let someone guess what that one is.


I got 70-something %. They didn't ask a single question about any of my guns. Otherwise I would have gotten 100%. :)

Got 100% . . . but seriously, many of the questions weren't about guns, they were about things like fiction (007 movies) or foreign law enforcement (NYPD).
 
GEEZ, it was just for some fun after today's news about how our gov't is screwing us on other topics

You guys need to go walk your dogs or something

And that is where I stopped. It is insulting on a quiz of how well you know your firearm knowledge, when the person who made it obviously does not.
 
Huh. I didn't bother trying to answer the questions correctly, just rushed through by picked the top answer on each one to see if any of my guns were actually there. Got 3 right this way and discovered that, strictly speaking, NONE of the questions actually involved any of MY guns.

The closest would have been the M9 (I own a 92FS) and the PPK (I bought my wife a PPK/S).
 
This was more of a trivia test. Knowing what handgun the Secret Service carries has nothing to do with my knowledge of guns.
 
100% it wasn't that hard...I did have to think a moment to recall Patton's quote about pearl grips...It was a quiz of general knowledge about guns for the "common man"

I think Maryland State Police/Patrol was the first LEA to issue the Beretta.

LAPD might have been the largest agency to issue it to all their officers

Besides the US military, the INS and Border Patrol issued the Beretta

Bond's .25 Beretta was replaced by MI-5 when it failed him. It was replaced by the .32 Walther PPK as a discrete carry and the .38 S&W Centennial when he might need a "heavy" calibre
 
I know there is some flak given to this "quiz", but it was a fun little trivia game.

Besides, I've done had some stupider quizes in my skool career that learned me nothing and will make this quiz look like a gull-darned genius!!!

James Bond made his first kill with a knife, his second kill with a Remington 30-30.
In the first Fleming 007 book 'Casino Royale', James Bond has 3 (count them) guns.
(chapter 1) .25acp Beretta 418 (with the grips removed) in a shoulder holster.
(chapter 8) ".38 Colt Police Positive with the sawn barrel" he slides under his pillow.
(chapter 15) "long_barrelled Colt Army Special .45" in the Bentley's glove box.

Note that Ian Fleming carried a Browning Baby .25acp during WWII. It was not unusual at all for him to give a .25acp to the Bond character.

Also note that Ian Fleming gave us 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.....sooooooo
