I Love This Girl (Pt 2)

Here are a few of my girlfriend. She is still pretty new, and enjoying it. I'm having a harder time teaching her than anyone before though, not for arguments but just because I am not sure what makes prone so difficult for her sometimes. I don't think it should be a strength issue because she isn't any weaker than other girls I have taught, yet her rifle skills leave a lot of room for improvement, her pace of improvement seems to be slower. Handgun she is doing better with though. Sometimes I just wish I could find a very competent coach for her in the area, though I'm not sure if she would want to devote that much time to it anyway. Regardless, I'm happy to have her along on my range trips and see her enjoy it and improve wherever she can :)

Bridger:

My friend, you are sooooo in trouble.

<<Doc shouts to Bridger: "Hang-on there buddy! I'm trying to get you unwrapped from her little finger!">>

Look who is holding the firearms; look who is taking and posting the pictures. :) I think Bridger is in trooouble.

I think the best one is where she's on the ground and you can see the brass flyin. Kinda neat it is.

So, she's what, four years old?

I have a four year old daughter that I shoot with. With the gun rested, With my hands over her hands, the same as if I'm teaching her to write. She shot a .22 for the first time this summer, and has also shot a .223. She has asked how old she has to be before she can shoot the sharps rifle. I said not until she's five.

A child that age might not gain much skill from shooting that way, but it introduces her to the guns and helps her feel familiar with them, as well as letting her feel like a member-in-training of the family's hunting/shooting group.

Barbara: is that what happens to rifles in the cold? Bear in mind where I live I've never gone shooting in the cold. It looks like frost on that rifle.

DOC 2005

Awesome pics of you and Morgan. WOW reminds me of my daughter and I. I used to take her shooting, fishing, Dirt bike riding. Now she is 22, she has a 3 year old boy and is married. She came over today and exchanged presents and spent time with us. I still think about the times we spent shooting fishing and riding. Especially when i saw the pictures you posted. Spend as much time as you can doing this. It only happens once.

Thanks Doc

Thanks. I agree. She's becoming a young lady all too quickly. Lucky for me she still comes to me and whines, "Dad...Dee, will you snuggle me?"

Thanks again,

The 3rd pic in post #82? That would be a SA-M1A "Loaded" with fiberglass stock, modified by 10 Ring Tao. :)

You can see it better in post #89.

The pic of the ar with brass flying reminds me of my benelli project. I'm trying to get my girls to get at least 3 shells in the air so I can take a picture of it. supposedly you can get all 5, but I'll settle for 3.

i cant post pics yet but recently I took my wife to the local BLM shooting spot w/ my vintage ruger .44 carbine with fixed 3x M8 leupold. semi auto absorbs all the recoil for her.

out to 50 yards it is so dead on right in the cross hairs. so i recorded her blasting oranges and her lauging like a loon becuase about 10 seconds after the orange vaporizes you get a slight mist of orange juice in your face. she was also impressed with my FR8 with open sights at 100 paces and the devastion NATO 7.62 ball ammo has on a gallon jug with colored water in it.

You guys all have some adorable kids!

Wow. You are a beautifull woman.

And a gunsmith !!!!

Here's one of my daughter prior to her winter formal. Not what you call an action shot, but the girl can shoot!!!

I barely know this girl, but she's alright.

One more. A few weeks ago we went shooting and one of the guys brought his girlfriend. With his permission, I gave her some pointers; by the end of the day, she was shooting some nice groups. (Dig the high-fashion "shooting" glasses.)

(I'm still trying to get import model Joyce Lex to come out with us. She's into guns. And yes, my wife knows.)

Here's a picture of my GF shooting my lever action .22. She's seriously getting into shooting. Great for me, gives me another good reason to reload!

well didn't do this right

Must be doing something wrong, cause none of my pictures are showing up and I can't figure out how to delete my post. Sorry guys, maybe next time I'll have better luck.

My wife is the one on the left. The daughter just turned five and got an upgrade to a pink Crickett last month. The hardest part is going at their pace.

Here is my wife shooting her Glock 26. I'm the guy mostly hidden behind her (have to maintain my internet anonymity :) )
