It's all purely subjective. Nothing to learn, except about those with maybe weird taste in handguns or especially, caliber choices.There is never a consensus on anything
I can't remember if I responded in this thread or not... maybe the same topic a few years ago or so...
Seven pages and few actually state their reasoning. So, it appears this is simply another, what's your favorite handgun thread.
For me, 9mm seems logical, common and inexpensive. But I'd want something I know I could keep running for another (hopefully) 25 to 30 years.
Yeah, um, if I had to choose one pistol for the rest of my lifetime... logic would seem to dictate it'd be one I've taken an armorer's course on, or otherwise at least know pretty intimately. Sadly, that limits me to the 1911, Beretta 92FS/M9, SIG P-226, nd S&W M&P. So, it'd come down to between the Beretta and the P-226, which to me is a toss-up 'cause I love 'em both almost equally. Probably choose the SIG, a tad more ergonomic. So there.
