If you could only have one gun in .40?

Hmmmm........

Normally, I am a 1911 .45 guy. Ownly owned one .40 cal.(so far, subject to change without further notice!).
But....if.....it is probably cheating...but I think I'dd get a Delta Elite 10m/m and barrels for .40 and 357 .Sig.
Barring that and STI .40, or other 1911 variant.
The only other pistols that really get me fired up are the Sig's, so that would be option three.

PDW version of this, will that qualify as a handgun?

My one .40 is a Glock 24P (long out of production) so my choice would be a Glock 35. When I was shopping though CCW wasn't a consideration.

I don't think the .5" longer barrel on the 35 makes it any harder to conceal than a 22 and the longer sight radius makes for better groups at the range. Plus you can always use a little extra velocity.

Invest in 2 or 3 high-caps for carry and use the 10 rounders for practice and/or IDPA and you're ready to go.

Now I know this is going to get some chuckles, but my fav .40 S&W is the S&W 410...I have owned the best, SIG 229, but keep coming back to the S&W 410, WEIGHT, BALANCE, GREAT CONTROLS, ADEQUATE ACCURACY...what more could you ask for....OK, burst my bubble, let's here the down side....( in a comparable $ range)...

A Sig P229R-DAK.... This is a P229 with an accessory rail and a consistent 6.6-lb. trigger pull, hmmmmm, a Sig w/ some "Glock-like" features! LE is currently said to be eating up early production guns, and no one seems to have an exact date as to when it will be released to the civilian public. :(

Other viable candidates in no particular order: G23, P99, S&W 4006/4003TSW, Sig P226ST, USP, Steyr M......Sorry I wasn't much help, it's hard deciding. :banghead:

Best, jnb01

I couldn't own a 1911 in .40 S&W. That wasted space in the mag would gnaw at me and gnaw at me until I converted it to 10mm Auto.

I only have one .40 S&W. It's a CZ-75B. When the CZ RAMI hits the stores, I'll own two .40 S&W's.

I know, I know! I have big plans for converting it into 10mm. Unfortunately (or maybe not), I keep buying more guns instead of a barrel, mags, etc. for my Colt. :)

Sig P229, then I'd swap a barrel for a .357sig...-oh wait, I've already done that.
