If you had an "extra" 1K, what gun would you buy?

It boils down to want or need. I want a west German made sig 220 in 40 Smith or 45 acp, but I need to acquire at least 2 more bolt actions to outfit my grandkids who want to start hunting. So 2 savage, rar, or t/c compass's in 243 win or a 6.5 cal, ammo and reloading supplies to tune loads for them.

If that is true I need another 1k... I want a cz 527 in 221 rem fireball. I am looking into building one since every time I find an original it is 1500 or more. They originally sold for 499 back around 2003 and the 223 rifle can be had at times for 500 or so. Just got to decide what stock style I want more... And find 1k that isn't nailed down...

Ya same here I have been wanting a smaller 22 round for some reason lately.

My LGS has a used Cooper model 21 in 223. Single shot, 24" barrel. A grand would almost cover it.

This web site and threads like this specifically send my mind racing with new guns and accessories to ponder. I keep a running list on my phone to keep me on track. Though I have no real additional firearm needs, I am always wanting a few more.
In no particular order:
AR10 .308
Marlin lever action .44
Single action revolver
Loaded up commander size 1911 in .45
Older Sig P220
Pc9 Ruger
A2 style AR15
Shield in 45
I’m sure there will be more on the list soon.
David.

An extra $1K would be used for getting a professional stock fitting with an expert who uses a "try gun"

I pretty much always try to keep a thousand dollars in reserve for spur of the moment firearms purchases (wife is very understanding and I buy her lots of jewelry) ... I'm always looking out for an older S&W revolver (pre-MIM, pre-lock) in mint condition, an older Colt revolver or 1911 in same condition, a Marlin lever-action (older JM) in .30-30, .357 or .45-70) ... think I've got enough modern semi-auto pistols, ammo and accessories (to include magazines) to get me through the apocalypse.

I have one more week at my current job. I’m moving to another where I will be in management meaning increase in salary, annual bonus, etc. I’m glad that some of us have some bright spots in our immediate futures.
Things are looking pretty good for a lot of folks these days.

Hmm. My stable is pretty well rounded, but I have been keeping my eye open for a mid1950s, 60s production Marlin model 336 in 30-30. I should have plenty left over to find a good Stevens Favorite in .22 LR with an aperture sight, and then pick up a silly little toy I have been wanting...a breaktop .32 centerfire or .38 short in good condition for playing around with.

Another new Ruger Mark IV Standard. It ate Any and All supersonic .22LR ammo.
Also buy 9mm and 7.62x39 ammo with the other $625 or so.

Be more interesting if we added another zero. I just had to pay more than $1000 for a set of tires, I hope I never shoot and I know won’t last me a lifetime and be something someone can enjoy after I am dead and gone...
