You get 1k to buy a firearm. What would be going home with you?

Just saw a KelTec KSG at the LTS for $999. If I had $1K given to me this is what I would be going home with. Plus there's no ammo shortage for shotgun shells.

I just priced an A. E. Myers 7MM Mag for slightly over $1k, so I'll cough up the extra $38 and take that. Do you need an address to send the check too?

Interesting choices so far.

I have never owned a 1911. For $1K I would look for a Colt Gold Cup with a few dings, or a WWII veteran with some some provenance.

I am not into safe queens. I like a gun that has a story to tell.

I already have plenty of handguns, Rifles, Shotguns and reloading gear.

So, because I live in Kalifornistan, I would spend the $ on as many AR platform 'lowers' I could get. Soon, I feel they will be banned ...:(

A 'Service Grade' Garand from the CMP, because they might receive only a trickle of M-1s in the future.
Spend the balance plus any extra gun cash on M2 Ball ammo from the CMP (.50/rd. plus shipping). They might still be 2-3 months behind on orders.

Many of the other guns mentioned will be in continuous production for a while.
As for my choice of the CMP, for those who are unaware, they are very experienced, dedicated Garand professionals and the organization is a non-profit. Patiently waiting for extra ammo from them.

For me?
M1 Carbine (not vintage) converted to 10mm. With a synthetic telescoping stock, XS tritium ghost ring sights, 16" barrel, light rail on forend, and hard chromed. Any extra money, if any, would go towards mags.

Does such thing exist? If so, where?

JerZsquid, it's a custom conversion proposition. Variations have been done.
I'd actually prefer a wood stock. But, I like the option of my while family being able to use it. Wife is 4'11", i'm 6'2", and two growing kids.

Today, $1000? I want to finally take the plunge, and go suppressed. Decent can, tall sights (?), threaded barrel, tax stamp. $1000 might cover it?

Ask me tomorrow, and I'll want...?

Well, assuming it came with a green card attached so I could actually come over and buy em, I'd get a pair of Glocks, probably a 17 for me and a 19 for the wife. And spend the change on range time

Springfield M1A; had one a long time ago and (very) stupidly traded it in for a Silver Pigeon .20 (although I love that Silver to this day and use it frequently).
