You get 1k to buy a firearm. What would be going home with you?

Three choices come to mind immediately.

A Ruger 1911, or a second Springfield Range Officer to replace the one that My wife told me to buy for myself, then decided she "liked".

Finally, the Rock Island .22 TCM/9mm combo 1911 if I could find one... It intrigues me, and was fairly impressive at the range as a bystander.

"You get 1K to buy a new firearm. What would be going home with you?"

So the question sounds like someone is giving me 1K that must be used for the purchase of a new gun. Question also doesn't say I can't kick in some of my own money.

I would get a Sig P210.

If I had saved the money to buy a gun then i would build an AR15.
However, if someone gave me the money to buy something i wanted but didnt really need it would be a Ruger No1 in 7mm Rem Mag stainless with Laminate stock.

Just happened and I bought a Sig P226 Combat for a home defense and range gun. I am an old timer and still prefer all metal guns with hammers. I shot competition with a DA/SA gun and like everything else with shooting, the transition becomes natural with some training just like pulling a trigger or working the safety on a 1911.

For me?
M1 Carbine (not vintage) converted to 10mm. With a synthetic telescoping stock, XS tritium ghost ring sights, 16" barrel, light rail on forend, and hard chromed. Any extra money, if any, would go towards mags.

Actually, I'd get my wife the 3" SP101 in .357 mag, she's been wanting. And a Walther PPK (.32acp if possible?), which she's been dreaming of. Have to go used, for both, though.

I have the hots for a Duty One from STI.

Although I would prefer it without the rail.

Never understood why the 5 inch comes without a rail and the other two have 'em.

With a grand I think you could afford both the 1911 and the rifle they just put out in .22 TCM

Browning 1886 rifle, with 26" octagonal barrel. Or a Winchester Model 12 and the remainder goes in the piggy bank for ammo or future firearms purchases.

If I had the thousand I would rather spend it on accessories such as spare magazines and ammunition for the weapons I have now.
