+1 on the old milsurp match. The only problem I have with that is both my milsurps have non-military optics on them. I had to do that because my eyes are bad enough that I can't see the front sight and target beyond 30 yards or so with irons.

I actually shot the September match with a WW2 German 98K Mauser using an ATI no-gunsmithing mount and some decent glass on it.

The other milsurp I have is a 1942 Izhevsk Mosin Nagant 91/30 that shoots about as good as the Mauser. It has an el-cheapo BSA Contender scope on it.

Klineia - I have a Mauser k98 that has been sporterized/bubba'd, and has Williams aperature sights. So if something like is allowed (maybe in some mil surplus sporter class), I'll be in. P51D
