Life time NRA price?

The above is directly connected to the NRA's mission and objective of protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States, particularly the 2nd Amendment. And they are the best and most effective organization at protecting the 2A. For them to align with the other party would be complete nonsense these days. The NRA will not devote resources to take down the borders, march in gay pride parades, support 3rd trimester abortions, promote the latest pie-in-the-sky luxury communism scam, or any of that. If one is looking for support with those types of initiatives, the NRA isn't your go-to organization. But, for fighting the 2A fight on the real battlefield -- in the courts and in politics -- they are the best-positioned organization to do the heavy lifting.

You can say whatever you want about what you think my views are, but you’d be more informed if you asked me first. I don’t want the NRA to fight ANY fight but the gun fight, but I can’t support them if they or the politicians they support are openly hostile to things I value. I’m anti-abortion, pro-border security, pro-capitalism, anti-religion, pro-gay rights for the sake of many friends and family, but I don’t want the NRA to take those fights. I’m not sure why you think I want them to. Is it because I have a pride flag for my avatar? It must mean I’m a flaming liberal who has to be all commie all the time... Well, I’m not, but there is a middle ground. I’m not buying into tribalism.

I want the NRA to be pro-gun. Not pro or anti anything else.

Bottom line, no far left politician is getting a dime from me, nor is any politician on the far right. That precludes me from supporting the NRA with any more money. I won’t support gun rights at the expense of other rights.

^^ I like that -- everyone should be free to choose. There are many who want erode that freedom, and they'll eventually succeed if it's not guarded fiercely in every aspect.

I have been a conservative Republican all of my life but have worked in Democrat/Liberal/Progressive-rich work environment the past 24 years and have always supported their desire to own/train with firearms for self defense/self protection - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...d-anti-gun-people.849455/page-3#post-11090212

We all have issues we value and I respect anyone who wants to support those values they deem important to them. But there are times, when those values become secondary such as emergencies, disasters and war. And believe me, we are at war with the anti-gun crowd as they have pulled all stops to work to ban guns from our hands.

I am willing to delay/compromise a bit on my other values but I feel the survival of the Second Amendment is at stake and I am absolutely not willing to delay or compromise anything related to Right to Keep and Bear Arms. And we are not only fighting for our rights but the rights of our children and our grandchildren.

If gun owners from all walks do not come together and mount a united D-Day level counter attack by voting out anti-gun law makers and voting in pro-gun law makers, I believe the antis will snatch up everything they can like they have for the past 4 decades in California. And look, NY has 7 round magazine limit!!!

We all need to wake up and smell the coffee. We can chat and vent all we want, but unless we come together and re-elect Trump to ensure continued pro-gun nominations to federal courts and the SCOTUS while voting in pro-gun law makers, anti-gun crowd will make sure erosion to 2A will continue as it has been.

If we don't, our children and grandchildren will be asking us, "Why didn't you do something when you had the chance?"

Our time to "Do Something" is NOW.

Let's be honest and real.

I got my life membership for $500 at the last national meeting in Indy. Heading there again this month to take my gf on a tour of Disneyland for shooters.

I figure paying by the year only gives them more money to fight. So I just pay my yearly dues and buy the occasional low quality trinket they peddle. Most recently a "range bag". I've bought higher quality bags that had Dora an Elsa on them...lol. I let my daughter have it to use it to carry extra things sometimes. School hasn't complained yet. Either way I contributed.

Plus if they screw over gun owners or go off the deepend like groups sometimes do, I can always cut ties and if enough people do that maybe it would reign them in. It's a win win.

Unfortunately we have to pick our issues and prioritize them. If gay rights or any other issue is more important to you than the right to keep and bear arms so be it. Don't come on here and use that for an excuse to not support the NRA or any other organization that works to defend the Second Amendment. Those are strawman arguments that are typical of the liberal political movement. They always say "well I would be for something if it wasn't for ----------- "fill in the blank.

You are kidding yourself if you think a government entity will stand up for gay rights or any other minority groups rights once they have turned our country into a police state with no Second Amendment rights.
Take a look around the world and tell me where minority groups are not persecuted more than in the United States.

Exactly. The NRA should stick to the gun issue, and only to the gun issue. Wayne Lapierre writing editorials in the American Rifleman against socialism (and implying that all the Democrats are "socialists") is clearly moving into the realm of "something else." In fact, I think that the NRA's desire to be a major player in politics generally is one of the reasons it took the stances it did on bump stocks, and on "extreme risk protection orders." LaPierre, Cox,etc. were acting like populist politicians and not like advocates for gun owners.

Some time ago I unfollowed some of the NRA's social media accounts after it became clear that they were turning into a media arm of the GOP.

Gun control is all about politics. There are long discussions on THR about how gun control laws have and are continuing to be used to restrict the other rights of citizens and keep the ruling party in power.

You continue to post emotional anti-NRA comments that simply are not supported by facts such as your claim (Post 41 & 51) about Pro-Gun Democrats in Congress.

Clearly one party doesn't allow independent representation. Not that the other one wants it either but With threats of "putting names on lists" and making the party "get in line" etc. And that's their own words, not mine. I think it's safe to say they discourage going against the party on big issues. More now than ever.

The only things that bug me is the constant begging for money, and even that I can tolerate, and the politics in their own magazines. I mean if I'm paying my dues and a member, and therefore getting the magazine (I pay extra for 2 actually) in the first place....I get it. Now show me new guns. Give me good articles. Tell other people what politics are doing, not your members, we already know.... that's why we are members. Buy the rights to some skeeter...Keith...etc. and review guns honestly. I want to hear if they are junk. See chrono results. High round counts. Etc.

On that note and to end positive. the one last month did say the new desert eagle wouldn't function. So they seem to be more honest than every other gun mag. At least they published that

I got a call from the NRA yesterday. I was offered an upgrade from life member for $25.00 per month over the next ten months. I thought about it, but I'm still helping my sisters to get new jobs.
Once they are employed again I'd probably go for it... .

Is the NRA perfect? Heck no! But they are the best defense against the radical left gun grabbers! Been a life member for over 10 years and just upgraded my membership to the Endowment level a month ago. If you haven’t joined please do! If you need to renew or upgrade please do! Your rights as gun owners are clearly under attack.
