I've been lucky, only one-

Bushmaster M17s. Jam-o-matic.

FTF's FTE's... it was horrible. I love my Bushy XM15, never a problem...

Para Companion and Colt Defender.......... :what: And some people bash Kimbers! I'll take a Series I Kimber over any mass produced pistol anytime. :D

I owned a Merrill for a while and it was an utter POS. They are supposed to be so incredibly strong but the barrell lock bent and ruined the frame.

Let me rephrase that..........In my opinion, the Series I Kimber is about the best mass produced pistol there is. Does that make any sense? :uhoh:

The only gun I ever got that was free, was a brand new Browning Hi-Power. A gift from my wife. Right out of the box there were problems that could never be corrected and talk about inaccurate.......emptying a clip into a target at 15 yards looked like some shot it with a 9mm shotgun. I gave it away to a gunsmith friend of mine who has used it for parts to fix other BHP's with. No I am not an imbisul!! I did get a Colt 1991 out of the deal for 50 bucks and it soon became part of a trade for my Wilson CQB.

You could not give me another BHP....even if it was from the better half.

Let me see if I can sum it all up. Colt's suck, 1911's of any make suck, HiPowers suck, Beretta's suck, Sig's suck, Glocks suck, M1A's suck, Kel-Tec's suck, Bushmasters suck.

I'm waiting for someone to say that Winchester lever action rifles suck. C'mon, there must be someone out there that thinks Win 94's suck!

Why didn't we just start the thread with "Every gun company makes the occasional lemon" and be done with it?

I know, I know, that wouldn't be any fun! ;)

I must be odd, I love my HiPower, my Glocks are wonderful, my Sig is the cat's meow, my 1911 is great and even my Kel-Tecs don't jam. Something must be wrong with me!

1) Springfield Armory Loaded...trigger pull measured 12 lbs, hammer would drop with grip safety engaged. 2) Springfield Armory GI champion...FTRB, FTF,FTE...couldnt take it anymore. 3) A friend had a new RIA 1911...frame cracked after 150 rds. Fit and finish was horrible. Customer service, according to him so this is second hand, was horrible. Issue not resolved after 6 months.

"I'm waiting for someone to say that Winchester lever action rifles suck. C'mon, there must be someone out there that thinks Win 94's suck!"

Well, I won't say they suck, but I really prefer my Marlin. I've had four Win94's. Still have one early 1965 in the safe. It was dad's so there's no getting rid of it. But the Marlin doesn't rattle near as much. And it's easily twice as accurate. Trigger is better too. Now, I don't really expect a saddle/brush gun to be be as accurate as any of my bolt actions. I don't expect it to have a trigger like my fine tuned Timney or the worked MKII.

Of the three other Win94's I've had, I had a trigger break on one. Broken firing pin. Broken magazine/tube spring. Broken feed bar. Only ever shot factory loads. I'll bet I've got 1000 rounds through my Marlin. Not one issue.

OK. I had a Jennings once. -It's at the bottom of the ocean now.

I have a Dan Wesson that's out of time.. Stll, single action, it's one accurate SOB.

I've got an Officers ACP that'll cycle dirt if I ask it to. There's reliabliity. Just bought a Kimber. We'll see what the future holds. My other Colt revolvers, and one's I don't have anymore. Flawless funtionality. And the Rugers in my stable... G'damn machines! Now there's your biggest bang for the buck.

-Steve

I love most Glocks but I didn't care for the Glock 36 I owned for a while. Did not feel right, too thin, and for basicly the size of a Glock 19...9 fewer shots.

As you can tell You can get a bad one in just about any make or model
somebody has had a problem with the top names
mine would be a walther P22 (terrible)
Had a colt 1911 that had to be rebuilt
Have a Sig p220 that anyone who shoots it hits about 6" low (new sights comming)
Remmington 597 - jam machine

Lets see.

Ruger MkIII 22/45. All 'hollowpoints' would make smilies from the feed ramp and jam. Factory sent me a new bolt, no difference. Something was really out of spec on that gun.

Benelli Nova. I know, shotgun...but I just got fed up with constant short stroking issues and the sight ramp. Very clunky/balky action.

Having some issues with my CZ 75BD not extracting. Probably the mags, working on it. :scrutiny:

And a suprise, my P11 works fine.

To everyone who is non-plussed about Hi-Power's: if they are so lousy send them to me.

But for a truly crappy pistol id have to say SW Sigma :barf: : my roomate has one in 40sw, if i had to use it in a self defense situation, i may not kill him, but i will scare the piss out him, (zip zip zip bullets whishing by all around). Thats why i have my BHP ready to go instead (and a cetme if he really wants to play  )

I bought a CZ85 Combat after reading about how wonderful they were on all the online forums.

The trigger was poor and the pistol not very accurate. I had a trigger job done and even had the barrel recrowned to make it shoot better. It's right up there with a Sistema Colt in accuracy.....I never saw a holster made for it but the Beretta 92 holsters seem to work OK.

Tried to sell it once and the only cash offers I got were for a financed purchase over several months. Or offers to trade even more obscure firearms - even from some of the big name CZ fans.

The primary appeal of CZ's is that they are cheap. The painted finish and poor machining inside wouldn't be tolerated for a second if it was a U.S. made firearm. Buying an inexpensive Ruger or used S&W is a much better expenditure.

It's still in the safe and I use it as an introductory pistol because it's heavy and shoots 9mm - cheaper than .45. New shooters aren't going to be tearing up the bullseye anyway.

A Luger and a Glock 34. Both may be excellent pistols but neither suited me! :uhoh:

About any Glock.

Overrated regarding accuracy. Grip angle stinks. Finger grooves stink. Yes lots of LEO use them. (I would use one to if it was given to department for free). Unethical conduct as a company from Gaston down.

Early series Beretta TomCat. Merde.. Beretta Customer Service as bad as the pistol.
Early series Taurus PT22. Merde. Customer Service ok, pistol still merde.
Early series Charter Arms Pathfinder. Merde. I was so happy with my Charter Arms Undercover that I tried the Pathfinder as a plinker, but it wouldn't fire three rounds without binding up completely. Merde.

:banghead:

All the guns I've owned that said Glock. I tired and tried to give them a chance cause so many say they're super guns. I've found them to be nothing but crap. I quickly sold every single one (About 5) that I've ever owned. Also have had no luck with 1911s. They are really nice shooters when they work. And they are sexy weapons... An Amerian classic. But the Kimbers, Colts, and Springers I've owned had sub par reliability. Only my Para P-14 impressed me as far as 1911s go.

Glock 17. It would not make it through a ten round mag without a jam and just was not accurate in my hands. The grip feels like holding a brick, that may be part of it.

My Browning Buchmark std. that was a jammomatic. Tried different ammo, no luck. When I first got it the front sight was off to the side by 1/8", never should have left the factory like that. Went back 2 times to Browning. Poor customer service. I gave them the S/N and they had no idea where it was and I was told that they never received it or didn't have it. I called the shop I bought it from and they called up there to find out that they entered the S/N incorrectly. Prolly last browning I ever buy unless it is an older Citori.
