My vote is for a small bevel, straight sides. Less is more.
And that's yours truly, and the medicine cabinet.
My daughters will dress me down like there's no tomorrow if they find me posting unrehearsed and unedited pictures like this on the net.
Well I've seen way worse mirror shots.....Time for the first raising of the grain and a chance to see what it's going to look like

But no spoilers, I want to see it IRL first.
So true... This project is awesome, and an inspiration to go do some woodwork. Thanks for sharing!I did that once.
The goal is come down with your skis, not on a snowmobile

Guns are fun, but time with family is priceless... Enjoy it!The bean pole himselfView attachment 882868
That. Is. Awesome! Nothing screams Bespoke personal firearm like a lever mag release! This is going to be an amazing rifle...Finally home again, family time is fun but it's enticing my mind from another subject of almost equal importance.
Namely a certain package waiting to be picked up.
I was hoping to show you the rifle fully assembled with the new sexy bottom, but sometimes size does matter and there's a fair bit of inletting to be done.
The new bottom metal is quite wider than the old military style, but it sports a lever!
I know that a push button style is more practical and that the old one is perfectly serviceable, but the lever says Custom Built like no other option.
I actually dug up an old shotgun top lever from the parts bin and pondered if I should try to build one myself, fortunately I put in a wanted ad and it got answered straight away which shows thay the gods are smiling at me as they are quite rare.
It's a bit too worn to be used as it is, but if I re-blue it the rest of the metal will look shabby. I don't want it to look a brand new rifle, I like the wear on the action and barrel. There's only a scratch near the muzzle that needs to be fixed, but otherwise I want it to look like an old pair of jeans.
Stylish and comfortable.
So I might try some cold blue on it to blend it out. There's always the option to rust blue it and take off the edges to slightly age it.
