My Google-foo must be weak... Thanks Jim.That is much too short for an 1886 lever action.
My google finds it for a Remington Model 24 .22 auto.
But it is not what I find pictures of.
So I don't know.
You too. I can't wait to see this thing with the bolt mounted peep sight!I'll get in touch with you tomorrow about shipping and stuff.
Have a great day!
You need a second project, you know, for the down times...Yeah the waiting is a bit tedious, I think I worked on the rifle every day over the holidays so I've got a bit of withdrawal syndrome. I got so bad that I started to renovate an old turnscrew, I've even stained it with alkanet oil :rolleyes
I'd offer you something for that if you were local....I know a guy who specializes in cross-eyed sheepbottom metal with a crosseyed sheep on the floor plate.
Sounds like burning it might be an improvement... Good for you to take that on...Funny you should say that, I've found another 98 sporter stock to remake.
It's a Parker Hale with pressed checkering that seems to have been dipped in lacquer.
It's also been equipped with a sort of accessory rail inletted with forstner drill bit and epoxy bedded with black epo.
Totally bedded.
There must be at least a pound of epo in there, it's been oozing everywhere.
I've been stripping the lacquer a bit at a time but it's really thick coated.
It also sports a cheesy aluminium bottom metal with a crosseyed sheep on the floor plate.
Whatever I do to this stock will be an improvement!
actually, yeah....Does he wear wellies?

calls himself an upper Volga river German.....kills sheep, dosent herd them.Welsh, I assume?
