Movie with the best gun quotes

From Last Man Standing:
Sherriff to John Smith:

If you're really planning on sticking around, don't be coming to me for help - you're on your own here. We already got a fella in the window of the undertaker. Do yourself a favor, first thing - get a firearm.

Now, the following is not exactly a "gun" quote, but the sentiment it expresses is the same, none-the-less:

From The Two Towers:
Eowyn to Aragorn:
Women of this country learned long ago: those without swords can still die apon them.

Breaker Morant

"Like this? Oh no, sir, no, it wasn't quite like this. No, sir, it wasn't quite so handsome. And as for rules, we didn't carry military manuals around with us. We were out on the veldt, fighting the Boer the way he fought us. I'll tell you what rule we applied, sir. We applied rule .303. We caught them and shot them under rule .303!"
---Lt. Harry "The Breaker" Morant

Then of course, there's "Winchester '73". I think it's still the only movie titled after a firearm. Not too many great lines, but a classic nonetheless.

No, there was one called Colt .45 that starred Randolph Scott. One problem, it was set in 1851, and the .45 caliber SAA wasn't even invented until 20 years later.

Quote from Colt .45:
Beth Donovan: I died a hundred times while you were in there.
Steve Farrell: I nearly died... once.

I noticed a flub in an old Bonanze episode the other day. One of the characters mentioned that it had been two years since the end of the War Between the States. That would make it 1866 or so. But the Cartwrights and virtually everybody else were all carrying Colt SAA revolvers and 1873 or later model Winchesters.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Dog: What the f@#k is that?
Mickey: It's me bren gun.
Dog: Couldn't you have thought of something more practical?

Some one has to help me with this one......

Mr. Mom

I think Michale Keatons asks a lady while she is vaccuuming what she is packing a .38 ?

She says "ah, .38......39, whatever it takes"

This may not even be close I havent see the movie for awhile, someone may know the exact quote !

"We even make our own shells, filled with paint. When we fire 'em, they make pretty pictures. Scares the hell out of the Germans" -Kelly's Heroes

Haven't seen it in awhile, i'm sure it's not an exact quote.

Jubei

One of my favorite:
StarShip Troopers.
Ricco: All right this is for all of you new people, Every body fights no body quits, if you quit I will shoot you myself, Welcome to the Roughnecks.

There was a scene in an old movie (One of the Billy Jack movies, maybe?) where a biker gang kidnapped a girl. The hero got the drop on the bad guys and demanded to know where they were keeping her. Picking out the biker leader, the hero points his rifle at him and says words to the effect of "You have until the count of three to tell me where she is."

Chief bad guy smirks.

"One. Two. Three. BANG!"

Hero turns to second bad guy and starts to count: "One. . . "

So many to choose from, but I Like:

"You gonna pull them pistols or just whistle Dixie?"

That is my 2nd favorite; my 1st=>

The Shootist (1976): John Wayne:

"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand upon. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the the same from them."

Though, morbid, I always liked the line in Full Metal Jacket when they're in the Huey and the gunner is yelling "Get Some!" and Joker asks him how he can kill women and children and the gunner responds with something along the lines of "Well, you just don't lead 'em as much."

"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."

Han Solo, Star Wars

If you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

The best gun quote ever, IMHO. It pokes a nice hole in the Hollywood tradition of having characters utter meaningful lines right before shooting. Though I still can't figure out how Tuco knew to keep a revolver in the suds of his bath.

"Fill your hands you son of a bitch!" is another classic. AFAIK the Duke was the last actor able or willing to spin-cock a Winchester. He had some long arms on him.

That was the first one, and it didn't have "Billy Jack" in the title so I can't remember the name of the flick. As I remember, "BANG" resulted in a hole materializing in the chief's forehead, and his sunglasses instantly became a pair of discrete sunglass.

If anyone remembers the title, please let me know.

from Firefly:

Book: "A ship would bring you work. A gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: Find a crew, find a job, keep flying."

----------

Mal: If someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back!

----------

Inara: It sounds like something this crew can handle. I can't guarantee they'll handle it particularly well.

Nandi: If they've got guns and brains at all...

Inara: They've got guns.

----------

Sir Warwick Harrow: You didn't have to wound that man.

Mal: Yeah, I know, it was just funny.

----------

Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can. How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep?

Captain Reynolds: You don't know me, son, so let me explain this to you once. If I ever kill you you'll be awake. You'll be facing me. And you'll be armed.

----------

Patron: [River is about to be burned at the stake] This is a holy cleansing. You cannot think to thwart God's will.

Captain Reynolds: Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? I'm not saying you weren't easy to find, but it was kind of out of our way and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's looking to kill some folk, so really it's his will y'all should be worried about thwarting.

----------

[Jayne takes out Crow with leg shot]
Mal: Nice shot!

Jayne: [sitting on the floor, drugged] I was aiming for his head.

----------

Mal: Okay, um, I'm lost. Uh, I'm angry and I'm armed...

Rio Lobo, Rio Bravo? (Help me out here)

Jack Elam's character has the bad guy prisoner real close, and is covering him with a short-barreled coach gun, both triggers wired back, and the only thing keeping the prisoner from eternity is Elam holding the hammers back with his thumb. He mentions something about his thumbs itching...

Anybody, Buehler? :(

(10 to go, a'fore I blow...)

G98, it was Walter Brennan, not Jack Elam. Can't help further, however.

It was Jack Elam in Rio Lobo who had the shotgun with the trigger tied back. Walter Brennan was in the earlier Rio Bravo. He was ALSO a grumpy old coot sidekick, and he ALSO had a db S&S shotgun. But his didn't have the trigger tied back.

Sinsaba's follow-up post jogged my memory . . . it was The Born Losers. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061420/

From Man on Fire ( which has too many Hollywood gun errors but good movie anyway):

[Creasy has rectally inserted a five minute time bomb into Fuentes]

Fuentes: A last wish, please, please. Please.

Creasy: Last wish? I wish you had more time.

Cold... Love it!

Rio Bravo: Walter Brennan as old man, Dean Martin as drunk, Ricky Nelson as young kid, Claude Akins as bad guy, Angie Dickenson as the girl. John Wayne as John Wayne

El Dorado: Arthur Hunnicut as old man, Robert Mitchum as drunk, James Cann as young kid, RG Armstrong and Ed Asner as the bad guys, can't remember the girl. John Wayne as himself.

Rio Lobo: Jack Elam as old man, and Mike Henry as bad guy?

All directed by Howard Hawks.

John T. Chance: You want that gun, pick it up. I wish you would.

From Terminator 2

JOHN: Listen to me, very carefully, okay? You're not
a terminator any more. Alright? You got that?
You can't just go around killing people!

TERMINATOR: Why?

JOHN: Whattaya mean, why? 'Cause you can't!

TERMINATOR: Why?

JOHN: You just can't, okay? Trust me on this

Later in the movie

JOHN: Now remember, you're not gonna kill anyone,
right?

TERMINATOR: Right.

John looks at him. He's not convinced.

JOHN: Swear.

TERMINATOR: What?

JOHN: Just say "I swear I won't kill anyone."

John holds his hand up, like he's being sworn in. Terminator stares
at John a beat. Then mimics the gesture.

TERMINATOR: I swear I will not kill anyone.

Terminator stops the bike and gets off.
The guard, sensing trouble, has his gun drawn as he comes out of the
shack. Terminator walks toward him drawing his .45 smoothly. BLAM!
He shoots the guard accurately in the thigh.
The guy drops, screaming and clutching his leg.
Terminator kicks the guard's gun away, then smashes the phone in the
shack with his fist. He pushes the button to raise the gate and walks
back to the bike.

TERMINATOR: He'll live.
