Had to do it. I name my guns. Thats just how it is. But they have to earn there names. Who names there guns and what are they.

My 7mm.08 is the B****. She has earned that name due to the kicking and not grouping.

I'm new to the gun community, but I've already named my first gun.

My first purchase a few months ago was a Remington 597 from Dicks. I've named her "Ethel." I plan on keeping with the Lucy theme and have already planned my next few purchases. My next purchase will be an 870 named "Fred." After I get my pistol permit (which I'm currently in the process of), I'll try for a Stainless 1911, effectively named "Lucy." Then I'll working on getting an AR to the tune of "Ricky."

Good talk...

So, if they have a name, does that mean you converse with them?

I'm skeptical of people who converse with inanimate objects.

names

I name all my guns, it gives them character.

My AR is named Joe (female Type) ie: burly he-she of a gun...
My 10/22 is named Ronda
My 870 is named Betty
ECT...ECT

Nope, nor have I named my cereal bowl, calculator, or pillow. I did give the dog a name however.

Never named any of my handguns or rifles. Or my cars. And never had a boat.

However, all my motorcycles had names: Putter, Thumper, Brown Cow, Red Kaw, Black Beast, Moby Dick - the Great White Whale, and Blue Demon.

But if I had a CANNON, I would surely give it a name.

The only name I give my firearms is on those days I'm not holding up my end during range time. I don't think they are allowed to be posted under the 'Gram ma' rule, but on a morning like today when it's starting to rain, I have equipment piled high on the bench, and I forgot the sight black so I just can't find that dag gum little pin head of a front sight, the names get colorful. And everyone knows if you're calling your rifle by its blue name your rotten shooting is all the fault of the gun... or the rain... or that breakfast burrito(who in their right mind eats a burrito in Vermont?).

I don't name my guns but I do name my cars if I have them long enough. A 77 f100 pick up named Margaret was my first. Currently I have an 84 dodge d100 named Gertrude, a white Z24 convertible named Snowblind, and my wife's car, a chevy prizm named the F.B.O.C.

F.B.O.C. = flaming bag of ....

Exactly.

Blackhawk Anniversary .357 and .44 mag set: "L'il Joe" and "Hoss".

Mle 1892 French Ordnance Revolver: "Lille".

Unlike the dogs, they don't come when I call, but they do bark.

Guns ... no

Boat .... yes

motorcycle (dirt bike) .... after leaving me high and dry 12 miles out on an abandoned railroad track, she got a name. Definately not THR to repeat it. It was a long push home.

Middle ground here.. lol

...

All my guns are females, no names, per-say, but, it just comes naturally, to me, when it comes to mating with guns (that are females) "only" in my small world.. lol

My CZ 83 has camo grips, the white on one side resembling my wife's iguana when it stands on two legs. The CZ is now known as the 'running lizard"! Oh I almost forgot, "We" have two Beretta's named "My Beretta". That's how the wife refers to her Cheetah 85FS and how I refer to my 92FS Inox. The two Stoeger Cougars (9mm and .45ACP) are just known as the "Cougar" and the "Big Cougar".

10mm CBOB is Aegis (The shield of Zeus).
AR-15 is Ares (god of war).

I'm probably over thinking this.
