At least you got out. I heard about 20 Friday morning, from dark to about 10am. This was just on the edge of Sullivan county more remote then orange.Sorry to hear about that and such a long trail. You might get lucky and be able to pick the trail again.
I worked 7 to noon went out after I got home. Heard a few shots but no joy for me. Unless you count the ones by the side of the road while I was driving home, I counted 15.

I've done similar but with fishing man it takes a toll on me.One year I hunted in VA. I drove the nine hours at night after working all day then hunted all the next day hung out with my sister and BIL until 11:00 pm. And was back out in the woods before 1st light.
Nice easy track job lol. Guess the deer were moving.Just got a small spike, seventy two paces.
