One year ago Jaguar proposed a postal match for the Marlin 39 club. It was so much fun we continued the matches and expanded the eligible firearms. To pay homage to Jag on the one year anniversary of his match will use the same target he did. The ubiquitous 3x5 index card. If we are lucky we can even entice the defending champions MalH and JohnMcl to join us.
Target
- 3"x5" index card or 3"x5" piece of paper or cardboard. Any color is allowed. NO AIMING POINTS ALLOWED!!!
Firearms, Course of Fire, Ranges and Positions
-Iron Sighted Rimfire Rifles fire 10 shots at 50 yards from Prone and/or Benched position, or Offhand at 25 yards
-Scoped Rimfire Rifles fire 10 shots at 100 yards from prone or Benched position and/or Offhand at 50 yards
-Rimfire Handguns fire 10 shots offhand at 25 feet (using both hands is OK)
-CENTERFIRE Iron Sighted Rifles 3 shots at 50 yards Prone or Benched
-CENTERFIRE Scoped Rifles 3 shots at 100 yards prone or Benched
-CENTERFIRE Handguns 5 shots at 25 yards Offhand (using both hands is OK)
Scoring- score 1 point per hit then take a US quarter or .952" sphere and COMPLETELY cover as many shots as possible, score 5 points per shot COMPLETELY covered.
You many enter with as many firearms as you would like and at multiple ranges with the same firearm where both offhand and benched classes exist.
To enter - simply post the details of your Firearm(s), sights, ammo and score. This is a for FUN match. There are no prizes and this is The High Road so everyone is expected to compete with that in mind. It isn't about winning as much as it is about getting out and shooting safely "with" your friends and allies here on THR. Posting any score with Grandpa's old hunting rifle is a winner in my book. Come share in the comradarie and celebrate your RIGHT to do so.
