Had that happened here, central MD, and certainly if it had happened in Baltimore dad would be in jail right now after being charged with assult and probably attempted murder. If he was white and the intruder, oh I mean victim, black he'd be facing every charge they could bring (at least if he was in Baltimore). Obviously, if you are able to beat him up he didn't pose a real threat and all you had to do is restrain him (gently).:banghead:

If that happens to me after I'm a dad and I find someone in bed w/ my 8 year old daughter he would be perforated with so many .45 or .357 caliber holes that you could use his body as a sieve. And I'm pretty much the least violent person you can ever meet.

Reading the article I'm starting to wonder if the perp is still in the human gene pool. If it turns out he isn't, maybe someone should nominate him for a Darwin Award. I also doubt many people would complain if it turns out that the dad mauled the perp enough for the perp to have to choose between gangrene and ..well.. . However it turns out he will live in really interesting times until he leaves prison.
IMO he also truly deserve it.

If there actually was a law like that, any man who would not break it, could not really be considered a man. That father was completely justified to beat that sexual predator to a bloody pulp, and no one with a moral compass pointing True North would have faulted him for blowing the pervert's brains out.

What would you do if your 8 year old daughter was being assaulted by a naked pervert? It is our duty to protect our families from harm. Who protects yours?

This reported case is a little close to my heart... My partner was raped when she was nine years of age. I secretly harbour feelings of 'disrespect' in some ways towards her parents for not having fulfilled their duties in protecting her from harm (even tho I didn't know her/them back then, nor the circumstances surrounding; and I don't blame them for what's happened). But nonetheless this has stirred some mixed feelings in me and there will no doubt always be friction between myself and her parents.

If anything, it's been "the event" in life for me to make sure I attend to my responsibilities when I become a husband and father... and has also sparked my interest in firearms for defense purposes.

I'm also struggling with certain emotions over people who do these sorts of things - harbouring extreme hatred, I find myself unable to forgive, and it's something I hate about myself. I'm strongly religious and would never have thought I could hate someone so much that I wish they could die a slow painful death.

It's certainly something I don't wish on anyone, not even my worse enemy.
