Hickok45 has a new video on the SIG Sauer P365 9mm semi-automatic recoil-operated magazine-fed handgun:

I know this one is on the short list for many, including me. Looks like a peach. He does measurements in video with a micrometer and it is the exact same size as a Glock 43 but with 10 rounds. The grip is identical in height and thickness, as is the slide. Impressive to say the very least. Just figured I'd share.

Honestly I'd wait a bit before jumping on the 365 bandwagon, there have been reported issues:

Read down to the screen shot of a comment from Phil Strader https://pistol-forum.com/showthread...Stack-9mm-w-10-1-and-12-1&p=709068#post709068

Apparently there are already "tweaks" in the works. Then there's this review:

Check out the 7+ minute mark, BLF worked day 1, went back to the range day 2 and it wouldn't function. So while I'm curious, I'll let others do the beta testing on this one.

The 365 is the gun that inspired me to buy a 7+1 Ruger. Not that the 365 is bad. I'm a huge 320 series fan. I just saw the edc capability of a pistol that size and decided that I didn't NEED the 10 rounds, but I was down a capable pistol bridging the. 380 mouse and double stack duty.

I think the 365 looks very impressive. Love the 320 trigger. However, I'm going to give it a year or 2 while I carry a Ruger EC9S and see how the 365 reliability shakes out.

Great vid though:)

Actually, his G43 had a grip tape on it, and then it had the same thickness as P365. So, when both are naked, P365 is thicker.

Hickok usually gives it to you straight. I wonder about his point about magazine longevity.

I’m disappointed my Shield is 7 rounds, my G43 is only 6, but maybe S&W and Glock know something Sig doesn’t.

I'm okay with my Shield at 7+1 or extended for 8+1. It shoots quite well for the size and conceals wonderfully. Plus, that S&W factory rebate so many jumped on...and I just got more OEM magazines for $16.50 each...proven reliable...what's not to like?

Harry’s Holsters also has YouTube videos of his P365 with strange wear and problems. I’d definitely wait on this one. Makes me feel good about not beta testing guns anymore.

I just meant if Sig mags prove reliable, they’ve exceeded Glock in the same size gun by 4 rounds and S&W by 3.

My G43 is enough for the application. So is my Shield. Both 100% reliable, but more ammo in the same size is only a positive. If it proves reliable. If not, then the Shield and Glock remain the winners of that size pistol.

The NUMBER ONE goal, and in fact the ONLY GOAL of an EDC pistol has to be reliability. Extra rounds are great, but if HAS to go bang every time. Every time. Every time.

Here are the top 5 goals of an EDC pistol in my mind:
  1. Reliability
  2. Reliability
  3. Reliability
  4. Reliability
  5. Reliability
I guess I could add "Reliability" to that list as well, but I think you get my point.

If SIG nails the reliability part, they will have a winner, if not, it is a total waste. Anything less than a home run here is unacceptable for an EDC pistol.

Looks like Sig is taking a step back on the P365 as they have paused shipping as of 02/12/18 to address some issues.

I'm with @Doublehelix reliability of a CCW is paramount, only after that is established should one consider it a "game changer." I was surprised to hear they stuffed 10 rounds in a pistol the relative size of G43 and Shield, this lead me to question the reliability and longevity of the magazine.
