Post up your Reloading Buddies (Pets)

1000000179.jpg this is my two miscreants, Ragnar (orange) and Floki. their names are from the tv show "Vikings" because i read somewhere that the vikings would always bring orange cats home with them from their voyages. if that is true or not, i don't know.
i haven't yet started reloading but i am gearing up and reading up on it. and when i start i know i will have to fight these two off because they have to have their noses in anything i do, including going to the toilet.

if i might elaborate on my two cats above a bit...

my wife is ill with dementia and her form of the disease produces delusions. and when she has these delusions, she's really miserable. but watching these two rowdy little guys helps her get loose from the misery of it.

For those of you that never heard the joke, it's pretty funny.

A woman brought a very limp duck to a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird’s chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, “I’m sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away.”
The distressed woman wailed, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead,” replied the vet.
“How can you be so sure?” she protested. “I mean you haven’t done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something.”
The vet sighed, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a old dog. As the duck’s owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.

The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.
The vet looked at the woman and said, “I’m sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck.”

He turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman. The duck’s owner, still in shock, took the bill. “$150!” she cried, “$150 just to tell me my duck is dead?!?”
The vet shrugged. “I’m sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it’s now $150".
That was great!

This wonderful dude was my companion in the reloading room for not long enough. A whole 27 months from when he came out to the farm from the shelter. He was very unsure of himself the first couple weeks getting let outside with no lead to hold him and 100 acres to run. He still with me every session, in a small wood box that has a special place on the bench. Miss my Ralphie boy.

Pets make our lives better in so many innumerable and unquantifiable ways. I'm glad but not at all surprised to hear Ragnar and Floki are a source of some comfort for your wife. I truly feel sorry for those who don't know or appreciate the joys of animal companionship.

Found one of the pics I was looking for the other day. Sasha would come up and put her paw on my knee. Then when you put your hand down she would “hold hands”. She was quite a dog. Still can’t find the picture of her trying to carry my old free Lee press…

Here are my two, Molly and Cosmo
I got Cosmo right before he was going to be turned into the SPCA by someone (Don't know if they would have took him or not, sometimes they don't), since was name was Cosmo when I got him I decided not to change it.
Molly came from the City pound, no idea what her name was so she got a new one.

Cosmo reminded my mother and me of our old dog Dude (who I had to put down way to soon because he hurt his back and was paralyzed)so she really wanted him. I bought him from the people in the SPCA parking lot.....

Priss.jpg This was my buddy Priss. She's doing what she did best. Part Maine Coon and one hell of a hunter, she always had to bring me presents.
Priss 2.jpg She posed for me in this picture right before she passed, we found her in the landscaping, laying with her head upside down like she always did, so we know she passed in her sleep. She was my constant companion when I was at home.

I used to reload with my dog laying next to me licking his paws. I might be paranoid but I thought about him walking around in potential lead and powder residue and I started closing the door. I really missed him but I thought it might be better for him.

This was our Charlie Boy, named after Charlie Brown. When my wife brought him home his head outweighed his rear so every time he would run and stop over he went.

As is the case with loved ones we never seem to get the time we'd like. He is resting peaceful on the hill at our farm now.

We're also blessed with three cats we've rescued, and an awesome Brindal mix that has more energy than the Eveready rabbit.
