Thanks for considering being the Guinea pig.Let us know after about 3,000 rds.
Not being a Guinea pig. Just hate to so many suffer from anxiety over something they know so little about. I hope that I will be able to ease your mind.:D Plus I own a lot of guns, many similar autos, but I don’t have a Ruger simi auto other then a MkI & II.

I think the New Ruger E nine, which is the same as the LC9S but with fixed sights, would be a better buy. I love the LC9S and they make great carry guns. Great point and shoot at 15 yds. You could have it for home defense or CCW. Besides selling at a Price of $209 out the door, and the street price to go much lower would be a nice low cost firearm that would be very versatile.
I believe you're referring to the EC9s:
https://www.ruger.com/products/ec9s/models.html

I love my LC9s Pro, and this (EC9s) is seriously attractive as a truck gun that's mag compatible with my carry weapon.

I have more than enough similar guns so I don't know if I need another one, but IMO the more quality guns manufacturers put out there the better, especially at this price point. It puts pressure on competitors to keep their price points down, quality up, provide good customer service and drives innovation. If it's not for you, you lose nothing but you do benefit from the competitive pressure it puts on other manufacturers.

I went by the shop on my way home to pick up my new Ruger. :( But it was not in. My friend told me that he ordered two, one for me and one to display in the store. They were shipped next day air and were supposed to have arrived today. Oh well, I get it tomorrow.

Always frustrating!
At least the shippers around me consider shipping time to be depot-to-depot. Aggravating when you need a part tomorrow, and 'next day' brings it four days later.
Looking forward to hearing about it in action.

I have one ordered, too.

I guess the bad weather in the NE part of the country is playing heck with freight.

I hear folks that are talking about price alone. Are there other guns in this price range that might be a better buy? How well will this gun hold up after a certain number of rounds have been fired? It has a aluminum chassis, vs a number of guns that have stainless steel. Would it be wiser to invest in about a $100.00 more and get the Ruger American which has a Novak, sights, all stainless steel chassis, barrel, recoil guide rod, modular design, teflon coated magazines, PLUS P SUSTAINED BUILD and more? I get the impression this is not a range gun,but a gun for home security. I do not have one, but the Sar 9 might be a good buy as well. Or the SR9E which is selling at Buds for $270 with free shipping. Just a economy version of the well tested SR9C. I own a SR9C and know it will go the distance, plus I have a dozen mags what would fit. I would go to that gun before the new gun Based on a LCP. Especially for durability and a lot of ammo down range.
I would not be a candidate for the gun at this point....

Dude we get it, you don't like the gun. Promise anyone who has read this thread understands that by now.

I'm not sure why you're so hellbent on talking people out of this gun but its really getting frustrating to read this thread and look for info from people who actually own the gun.

Ever hear that people can have different opinions, needs, wants etc, and it be perfectly fine to do so?

Ok, no Problem Dude. No more discussions on this gun from anyone that has not owned it. Sounds like a plan. And by the way Dude, I was comparing prices of other guns and making suggesting for shopping. I guess you own one? And by the way Dude, I am a Ruger Fan. Own a number of Rugers And I think I have a right to make a comment about a gun that is supposely based on a another gun I have owned, actually 4 of them. Comparing prices of other guns in the same ball park should not have bent you out of shape. So how about turning your baseball hat around and stop the whining and please stop with the "Dude" crap.

The consideration of purchasing the firearm is the entire reason for my interest in the thread. By all means, feel free to express your opinion on said subject. No qualms at all with discussing and expressing said opinions. Seems you had a negative input on anything and everything that was mentioned as a potential plus. Maybe you should just stick around a while and let someone else point out something potentially positive about the new product so you can think of a reason to shoot that down too ;) ... dude.

Ps. I will wear my ball cap however I see fit.

I will be making a new thread of "Budget guns" now available, and other guns that are great values. Move away from just this model on this tread. By the way, I wear my "Ruger Hat" each day, but Brim facing in front of my face. :)

That sounds like an interesting thread, can't wait to read it and the discussions.

Ironically I have been wearing my smith and Wesson hat as of late, when not wearing my hard hat. Both also brim forward as always

I went by the shop today and picked it up.
It comes in a cardboard box, which doesn’t bother me. I hav a bunch of plastic boxer that came with other guns that I don’t use. But if you’re one of those guys that needs a plastic box, this ain’t the gun for you. ;)

Here it is right out of the box. Came with some Ruger swag. I’ll put the sticker on the gun safe in my shop.

Overall, not a bad looking pistol. It has a nice flat black finish on the slide that blends with the frame. The slide serrations are wide, not deep or sharp, and easy to grab . The triggerguard is nice and big so, those of you will fat fingers will have no problems getting to the trigger.

The sights are not bad and are dovetailed front and rear. I do like the grip. The beaver tail is much better than the American. It points good and has a nice feel to it.

Disassembly and assembly are very easy. I like the fact that the lower has full rails.

The mag release looks small but is very easy to hit. Mags drop free and load into the gun easy.

The trigger is ok, I wish the reset was a little shorter.

I didn’t have time to get to the range and I’ll be working the gun show this weekend, so it will ne Monday before I can shoot it.

Nice pics, I like what they did with the recoil spring and guide rod. Looks like a beefier take down pin. Looking forward to your shooting review. Is it possible you could get a pic of the chassis with some more light? Rails etc.I can't really see the inside very well.
Thanks and congratulations!

Impressive design. Appears to be beefed up. Actually looks more rugged than the LC9S possibly. Here is a pic of the LC9S for comparison. It will be interesting to see if they come out with a "Sub-Compact".
