WC145---on the Mod 28 - .45acp conversion, is the barrel rifled to the front of the sight or all the way to the tip of the barrel ?
Not really. My rebore cost $50(maybe $75) and my cylinder was $50. Labor was cheap. Even including the cost of the Model 28-2, I doubt there would $350-$400 tied up in mine. And, 4”, 45 ACP, N frames were impossible to buy back in the 80s.Would be more economical just to a new 41 than rebuild a junker.
Strawhat, thnx for the comeback; sounds like patient, fiddly work. Nice job!

There's about a bazillion beater 28-2s out there, better they're rebuilt into something that will be use and appreciated than left to languish on pawn shop shelves or stripped for parts. When I see these beautiful vintage Smitty's that have been Frankensteined, A tear runs down my cheek.
