I was remiss in my previous post not to mention that I spent most of my 4 year US Army career patching up my fellow soldiers and gluing them back together.

So in the case of a disaster of epic proportions on a plane (or bus or train) I would be the perfect passenger to start Triage and get all the folks settled down.

Even Night Rider, if this comedian would be lucky enough to need my assistance! :D

Airplane, train, bus? LOL, no thanks, I'm driving. :neener:

And there you have it. This correlates with my theory that guns are a "zero-sum game." In other words, you are stronger if you are armed, but everyone else is disarmed. The goal of this game is to arm yourself while disarming the other guy. One thing is just as important as the other.

Both the pro- and antigun sides of the gun issue play this game, but from radically different perspectives. The antigunners emphasize the disarming part, with the unspoken understanding that they themselves would be exempt. The pro-gunners emphasize the arming part, with the unspoken understanding that certain categories of social undesirables (and not just felons) would be denied.

Underlying both sides is a kind of antidemocratic elitism.

When you quoted me, you cut the last sentence (above) and it is relevant; I try not to play the disarmed "game" - I don't like that "game".
I avoid places where I can't carry, including airplanes and "entertainment" where metal detectors are involved.
I'm contentedly armed in my daily activities, have been for a long time and like it that way.

I graduated Combat Lifesaver School first in my class.

I graduated EMT-B school in the 96% percentile.

I Graduated with an AAS Medical Assistant on the Dean's List all for semesters.

I'm good

What a great idea! My own plane! But ,,what are the odds of depressuration in a Sky High Gunfight Ohen?

Miniscule according to the experts.

I will still be on those planes helping the maimed and dying. I didn't wear my uniform four years for show.

Even years later I still stop for serious road accidents. It is in the DNA.

Is there anything currently preventing concealed carry on a bus or train? It has been a very long time since I have been on either.

I would not ride public transportation without carrying.

The security around boarding an airplane is sufficient enough that I feel like I am on an equal footing with every other passenger. I hate flying though, spending several hours stuffed in a flying human cattle car has no appeal to me.

According to what I have read Amtrak allows your gun in the baggage compare.

Greyhound sadly does not allow a gun even in the baggage compartment

Many Municipal Bus Dept. allow CC.
Miami is one. Check your local bus and train offices for carry information

I haven't gotten on Greyhound since 2012 when I went from VA to AZ. When I did, they wanded everyone at the terminal I was at in Virginia, but they didn't wand anyone after that from what I seen at sevenal terminals and transfers throughout several states. I'm not sure in anything has changed since then.

I would like to agree with you. But, Is the pilot not a "Private Citizen"? That would be like saying Cops should have firearms but not "Private Citizens".
Freedom Is Not Easily Regulated.

Everyone is a private citizen, but the pilot is employed by the airline. The comment refers to people without an association.

You understand the context, let's move on. You clearly disagree with me and I'm okay with that but let's not pretend like you didn't understand the reference or context.

Nothing ever changes with Greyhound..
It's still the same unimagitive Old Dog.

Buy your own plane and carry all you want.

Done, but 1950s Pipers are slow!

Neither the pilot nor the pressurization system are single points of failure in a commercial airliner. Both have redundancies for anything any small arm can accomplish.

For those saying that it’s up to the property owner, why is security handled by a federal agency? Actually curious, not accusing anyone.

I mean, I suppose I would avoid places where I have to disarm if there were any except the VA in my life.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around why I would go any place where I have to be searched going in?

Even in a good neighborhood?

Regardless of what people may think of the TSA, airport security is far better than that of the typical train station or bus stop. Planes and ground transportation can't really be compared when discussing security zones and perimeters.

You're aware that B-17s weren't pressurized at all right? If the pressure drops the oxygen masks deploy and you keep flying.

I wore mine for 15 and it kinda sounds to me like you did.

So is Down Syndrome and certain types of cancer.

I stopped once. I was told my services were not needed. I drive right by now and sleep like a baby (unlike my back and shoulders start to ache).

Voted yes, but I’m uncertain about a plane, never put much thought into it. The others are simply, yeah. Go ahead but discretion is recommended.

ETA:
Good points have been made about things being privately owned. I still lean, yes but reserve the right to change my mind based on private property issues and the like.

Absolutely true. Security at Amtrak or Greyhound is about on the level with Guatemala City in the 1950's!

Just checked . The Yeses are smashing the Noes 29 to 13. Keep it up believers!

For the Naysayers I suggest 2 325mg Bayer and have the Doc call you in the morning.

For Night Rider I suggest 4 at 325. He has had a bad day..
