Purchased a 2 band short rifle previously.
And have a beater carbine for a few decades now.

The bores are in fine condition with a bit of darkness in the corners in the 2 band. The actions on the 2 long rifles are snug and the 2 band has just a touch of wiggle.

The guns were nice and all but the best part was the box of "reloading" equipment.

2 20rd boxes of .585 750gr soft points
~150 lead .585 projectiles
3 sets of dies (CH4 & 2 unknown)
1 trim die
10 loaded cartridges
1 RCBS .590 520gr mold
And a box of random berdan primers.

WOOT! SCORE!
So many shell holders!!!!

I had to watch a video to see how the action worked.
This guy loaded .60 round balls with 75 grains of 2F BP and was ringing steel at 100 yards.
He only works the action once after the 1:55 minute mark.

a number of years ago i saw a shorter barreled of that make shot gun. smooth bore and shot gun. was a interesting gun. the one i saw was used many many times. as this was the wild west i live in it may have been used by a native. the barrel was most likely cut back to shorten it. for fast use on a horse. it would have been good with a lead round ball in it coming up along side a buffalo or enemy.

Could you post photographs on the British Militaria Forum where a record is being accumulated on Canadian issue Snider rifles? https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/bri...of-canadian-issue-snider-enfields-t15584.html

I hope posting another forum does not cause offence. It is for a very specific purpose (although they are knee deep in Sniderology).

Sure ill post em when I get back home.

I'm kinda curious as to how in the heck they got down here.
From the great white north to the Great Arizona desert

Dear God.
Loaded up a bunch of ammunition in the meanwhile.
I apparently went full Empire today. MkII *, MkII**, MkIII sniders, mkIV Martini-Henry and a 3 band .577 Enfield musket.
150 rounds of .577, 50 45-70-500, 65 of .577-450 and 40 rounds of .577 minie
That was a recoil workout.

Best part of it was I now find the recoil of my various rifles in 45-70 (anything short of a t-rex stopper load) VERY mild to almost pleasantly dainty in comparison. Even the carbine trapdoor is a pussycat in comparison.
