Tell me about your AR15 cases / bags

I think $150 is reasonable for such a case. It offers a versatility not matched by other bags, so this bag could actually replace several others.

Ouch.

That'll be tough on me - somehow I was expecting around $100, but then at 71 I've been out of the work force a good while.

(Maybe that's why I asked for a "job", huh?) :D

Now, what can I do to earn one of these gonna-be-great products?

$150 would definitely be at the top end of my budget, though I would consider it for the product you've shown. Can you offer a spare three-mag pouch and at what price point?

Ouch.....no offense intended here.....but I definitely would not buy one for $150. Eagle, Blackhawk, Tactical Tailor, and LBT all make a case almost identical minus some of the PAL webbing for between $80 and $110. Tacpro makes one for $50-$70 with velcro in the outside pocket, but PAL in the main......they are made in China however and not quite the same category as the others. Of course, I don't expect to pay $50 for a good US made piece of gear.

Tons of PAL isn't too important to me personally....two strips in the main compartment I feel is adequate for accomodating different config weapons. As far as the outside goes.....2 might be enough there as well.

Just my thoughts and opinions. :)

Hey, I understand guys. This is a very different undertaking for us. Like I said, we'll offer them in both with or without PALS but the final price will yet to be confirmed until these are ready to be shipped.

I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks a mil to everyone for their input and feedback.

I'd buy one at $150.00, if for nothing more than to support a company that is in the US, making GOOD gear. China is not our friend and I try to vote with my wallet when I have a choice. The extra $50.00 is money you won't miss in the long run. Do what you can afford to do to support US companys, is the way I look at it. I know this isn't always practical but.. I think it is in this situation. Helmie here is an idea... you should put together a package deal or two with a range bagand rifle bag. Put it up on your web site, and see how it works out. I'll be ordering from you later this summer, thanks for keeping the company US made not just US based, some of us notice and think it's great.

Finally.....

First of, my apologies to all you for the delay. I owe you an explanation as to what has been happening with this project in the last few months......

Shortly after the first sample was made, I had several folks on Team i-SHOT field test it before I handed it over to Rob Haught for further testing. Rob tried it out for a couple of weeks, liked what he saw and felt good enough about it that he handed this case to Ken Hackathorn for his thoughts. Suffice to say that when I met Mr Hackathorn at the Carolina Cup, he expressed that he was impressed with this case. Phew! He felt it would fill a niche and offered to past the word out if I needed his help. You bet I'll call him when the time comes ;)

Anyway, we continued showing it around the LE and military circles and everyone who saw and tried it out, likes the case. In fact, there was a lot of discussion about this case being used as another version of that for a SOPMOD M4. Some of them felt that if I can produce additional pouches for all the related stuff that's issued with the SOPMOD M4, the accessories can be mounted using alice clips in the outside pocket. It appears that Eagle had one before but now it is not made available to the civilian market.

The final showing was at this week's TREXPO show and the response was superb. Truth be told, a lot of folks were concern about the price (at first) when I told them but on close inspection, everyone felt that with the amount of work put into this case, it would be almost impossible for anyone else to re-produce one for less than $225 retail.

Nevertheless, I've read and re-read some of your concerns on this thread and he's the current sitrep......the TCC (Tac Carbine Case) will be produced as is with some slight improvements (incl a better strap and additional d-rings at the back for quiver carry) and will be available at the end of October for about $165 retail. Sorry guys but in the last few months alone, the cost of 1000 denier cordura has gone up twice on me. It will only be available in limited quantities and only in black. Length wise, it will be available in 36", 42" and finally 46". The case will include a mag pouch that will hold 3 mags. Additional ones will be available as an option.

That said, we have gone ahead and sampled another case that will not have the PALS webbing, in the same fabric as our current range bags, with PE foam and it will also have a mag pouch mounted using velcro onto the inside of the outer pocket. This case will be available at the end of November for about $85, in blue, green, khaki and gray. It will be called the CCC, Civvie Carbine Case.

The TCC, as of this week's TREXPO, was shown as part of our new tac gear line, S.E.R.T. System. This is a modular set targeted towards the SERT community and it allows you to carry what you need for a specific mission by attaching all the sub-cases onto a main one. This also comes with thigh rigs with a new mounting system, a dump pouch, a shotgun shell pouch and belt. I hope to have updated photos on our site within the next few days but if anyone wants to be kept updated on this direct, email us at [email protected] and will keep you posted when the updates come along.

On last thing. I have had a lot of request from fellow forum members who are interested in purchasing these cases (when they become available ) with our range bags. As such, since forum members (especially you folks on this thread) are responsible for the 'birth' of this new product (so to speak), I will have package deals made so as to accommodate these requests. These deals will be restricted solely to THR members and I will announce it when the cases becomes available.

For those of you who have made this possible, a big THANK YOU. My thanks also goes out to everyone who stopped by to say hello, to check out the case and such at the last Dulles Gun Show and TREXPO. It was great seeing y'all.

P.S. I will be shipping this case to D&R Tactical who will be showing it off at this month's Black Rifle Day (AR15.com) in Virginia. Anyone attending will get a chance to check it out. Thanks.

Helmie,

What are the dimensions of the TCC? I'm wondering if it will fit inside the new Pelican 1720 for shipping/flying.

Go ahead and hate me if you want; Helmie sent me one of the cases for evaluation in S.W.A.T.

This is one very sweet carbine case. Fully padded, it has a large outside pocket. The interior where the foam is, is not sewn, but zippered, allowing one to place some flat objects under the carbine. It also has a large exterior pocket. The top inside has PALS webbing and a couple of nylon, Velcro-secured straps to hold the carbine. Helmie also included two mag pouches from his SERT line. The pouches will hold 3 AR mags and are PALS compatible. I'm not crazy about the color (target indicator black), on this first one, but can hardly wait to get one in khaki. Another great job by i-shot!

We'll have a full report in S.W.A.T. soon.

Denny, you keep saying that you'll never become rich writing for magazines, but you sure do get a lot of cool toys to play with.:p

Still only available in black? :(

Guys, update......

The TCC carbine case will be available at the end of this month. Unfortunately, the first production is only in black. Colors hopefully sometime during the SHOT Show in January.

The case will be available in 36", 42" and 46" lengths.
It does come with a 3-mag holder.

1000 denier Cordura
Close cell foam
Heavy duty steel hardware
Plastic inserts

To all those who have contributed to this thread, I will make the TCC available to you at a discounted price. Kindly email me direct ( [email protected] ) for a quote and provide me with your handle.

I have added a page on my website about this case and I clearly indicated that this case was designed and produced on feedback from shooters on THR ( link )

I understand that for some of us this case comes with a pretty hefty price but the ideas put forth was just too good for me not to consider so we took the chance and produced a limited number of these. When the first sample was shown around, we had a great deal of positive responses from PDs and such and felt that we should at least give the original design a go. That said, after hearing how some of you felt that the original was costly, we got back to drawing board for an affordable one and we have already started production of the non-PALS webbing version (our CCC) and will make this available in several colors. Expected retail for this version is $89. Here's one in blue.

Once again my sincere thanks to one and all your contribution :)

P.S. The back of both cases now have an additional set of fancy metal d-rings and the strap has been upgraded to a rubberized non-slip padded one with more heavy duty hardware.

P.P.S. The original blue is much darker. My photo taking kinda sucks.

Helmie, are the mag pouches wide enough to take .308 mags (M14, FAL, etc)? What color options will be available? It sure beats my cardboard box. ;)

pipsqueak, I'm gonna check that out today and our local dealer and will post my findings. If you're talking about the CCC, we are producing these in blue, burgundy, green and khaki.

I also need a bag for my shotgun that would let it zip up easily with the short barrel and sidesaddle on it, with a way to carry extra ammo and the long extra barrel presumably internally. Any of these on the market now or will you make one of these also?

Any plans for something like this?

Nice lookin bag. Does it have a pocket suitable for non mounted optics/carry handle?

Edward, the beauty of the TCC bag is the PALS system which allows you to configure pockets to suit you.

The CCC looks like a great basic bag. Are the mag pouches sewn in, or attached by some other method?

Helmie, I just PM'd and emailed you about obtaining a TCC. If I can get it before next weekend, I can show it off at Arfcom's Gunstock.

Edward429451, at the request of one of our PD distributors, we're currently developing an almost similar case for the Remington Max

It will have two separate pockets outside with removable shell holders (elastic webbing) mounted via velcro. The idea is to allow the LEO to use the pockets for the shells of choice but have the slugs (selct loading) on these removable ones. It separates the two.

TechBrute, the mag holders for the CCC is velcro mounted.

Thanks guys :)
