Finally.....
First of, my apologies to all you for the delay. I owe you an explanation as to what has been happening with this project in the last few months......
Shortly after the first sample was made, I had several folks on Team i-SHOT field test it before I handed it over to Rob Haught for further testing. Rob tried it out for a couple of weeks, liked what he saw and felt good enough about it that he handed this case to Ken Hackathorn for his thoughts. Suffice to say that when I met Mr Hackathorn at the Carolina Cup, he expressed that he was impressed with this case. Phew! He felt it would fill a niche and offered to past the word out if I needed his help. You bet I'll call him when the time comes
Anyway, we continued showing it around the LE and military circles and everyone who saw and tried it out, likes the case. In fact, there was a lot of discussion about this case being used as another version of that for a SOPMOD M4. Some of them felt that if I can produce additional pouches for all the related stuff that's issued with the SOPMOD M4, the accessories can be mounted using alice clips in the outside pocket. It appears that Eagle had one before but now it is not made available to the civilian market.
The final showing was at this week's TREXPO show and the response was superb. Truth be told, a lot of folks were concern about the price (at first) when I told them but on close inspection, everyone felt that with the amount of work put into this case, it would be almost impossible for anyone else to re-produce one for less than $225 retail.
Nevertheless, I've read and re-read some of your concerns on this thread and he's the current sitrep......the TCC (Tac Carbine Case) will be produced as is with some slight improvements (incl a better strap and additional d-rings at the back for quiver carry) and will be available at the end of October for about $165 retail. Sorry guys but in the last few months alone, the cost of 1000 denier cordura has gone up twice on me. It will only be available in limited quantities and only in black. Length wise, it will be available in 36", 42" and finally 46". The case will include a mag pouch that will hold 3 mags. Additional ones will be available as an option.
That said, we have gone ahead and sampled another case that will not have the PALS webbing, in the same fabric as our current range bags, with PE foam and it will also have a mag pouch mounted using velcro onto the inside of the outer pocket. This case will be available at the end of November for about $85, in blue, green, khaki and gray. It will be called the CCC, Civvie Carbine Case.
The TCC, as of this week's TREXPO, was shown as part of our new tac gear line, S.E.R.T. System. This is a modular set targeted towards the SERT community and it allows you to carry what you need for a specific mission by attaching all the sub-cases onto a main one. This also comes with thigh rigs with a new mounting system, a dump pouch, a shotgun shell pouch and belt. I hope to have updated photos on our site within the next few days but if anyone wants to be kept updated on this direct, email us at
[email protected] and will keep you posted when the updates come along.
On last thing. I have had a lot of request from fellow forum members who are interested in purchasing these cases (when they become available ) with our range bags. As such, since forum members (especially you folks on this thread) are responsible for the 'birth' of this new product (so to speak), I will have package deals made so as to accommodate these requests. These deals will be restricted solely to THR members and I will announce it when the cases becomes available.
For those of you who have made this possible, a big THANK YOU. My thanks also goes out to everyone who stopped by to say hello, to check out the case and such at the last Dulles Gun Show and TREXPO. It was great seeing y'all.
P.S. I will be shipping this case to D&R Tactical who will be showing it off at this month's Black Rifle Day (AR15.com) in Virginia. Anyone attending will get a chance to check it out. Thanks.
