The first gun you ever shot

First gun I shot was my Grandpa's Remington 510 Targetmaster in the mid sixties. I have it now. Number two (which I too still have) was my other Grandpa's Savage 22 over 410. He forgot to put it in the will, but he knew I wanted it. My uncle didn't know that when he sold it. I told him how fond I was of it, so he bought the gun back and gave it to me. What a suprise that was!

An Armisport reproduction 1853 3-band Enfield Rifled Musket. I was 16 at the time. I didn't grow up with firearms but always had an interest. Thus my first gun fired was an Enfield (due to Civil War reenactment). First cartridge firearm was a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 or Glock 19 (I can't quite the order in which my father purchased these...after a bit of badgering from me...haha). He now enjoys going with me to shoot the rather large variety of firearms in his and my own collection.

28 gauge. i was 4-5-6 years not entirely sure about the age, but what i do remember is my dad tried to show me how to shoulder the shotgun and i said "no i want to hold it like rambo." So my dad let me do it my way and in the ~25 years since i have listened intently to any advice my dad gives me.

Marlin 60 that grouped so poorly people would mistake a 15 yard target for a scattergun's pattern board. Got me hooked, though!

Beretta M70 32acp of my Dads ... but I haven't shot it since he passed 6 years ago.

I was about 7; we were camping & fishing down on the Dragoon & had just gotten back from running our trout lines when we had a lengthy discussion about safety, aiming and operation and he put it in my hand for the first time. We walked over by the edge of the water and he put up some empty pop cans on a fallen tree, he handed me the mag with one round in it and the pistol ... I was so excited even though I only hit the dirt in front of the tree ... I was hooked.

A Ruger 10/22, I was roughly 8 years old. My father gave me that rifle for Christmas when I was 10, still have it in the safe.

Ruger P89. 12 years old shooting at a half gallon milk carton tied from a branch. Didn't hit a thing with the whole magazine... My how things have changed with practice...
