The first gun you ever shot

I'm not 100% certain but I believe it was my dad's Remington 552 Speedmaster it was on the 4th of July when I was about 5.

I'm still new to guns so this was only about two months ago, but it was a rented Sig Sauer 9mm.

First gun I ever held, but didn't shoot, was my dad's S&W .357 Mag.

First gun I fired was my father's .22cal lever action rifle, loved that rifle!

1960 Vincenzo Bernardelli Monocanna Pieghvole 12ga.
It weighs only 4.6lbs. but kicks like a 1,000lb mule.

My Father taught me to shoot with it when I was 12 years old.
It was passed down to me when he passed away.

He always believed that if you couldn't hit something with the first shot it was to be left to live another day.

Same as the one pictured below except mine is a 12ga.
The metalwork on mine is very good but the stock needs to be refinished.
I'm afraid to attempt it myself due to the checkering in the wood.

A "T22" - straight pull-back bolt .22 cal rifle for the Colorado Hunters Safety course in 1969. I don't remember the manufacturer.

@O C: I have a Red Ryder in my safe right now haha it is fun for when I want to do a little off hand shooting in the backyard but don't feel like driving out to the range (plus ammo is $5/500! You can't even get .22lr that cheap haha).

The first gun I shot was my friend's dad's .22lr pistol with a red dot sight that we took out to the desert when I was like 12.
My dad has owned guns since before I was born, but we didn't go shooting because he moved out of state after my folks split up, unfortunately.

I will be visiting him this summer though and now I have a CCW that is recognized in Florida where he lives, so we'll both be carrying haha.

.22 rimfire single shot bolt action Remington.
Exact model unknown but it had an apeature rear sight.
I was about 7 or 8 years old.

Fn-FAL. It came in the trunk of my Dads new company car in Namibia 1977. My mother tried canceling our shipment form California, but she was too late. :) Fun times ensued.

It was a Remington single shot bolt action .22lr. I was 9 yrs. old in 1976 & I was at a 3 day camping event when I was in the cub scouts. It was my first time away from home. I rember being so proud of my special white neckerchief that said "Spirit of '76" on it. We shot a qualification course for a Merritt badge. I had so much fun camping, fishing,& shooting. I have had alot of great times in my life, but for a kid from the south side of Chicago, that 3 day week end in Wisconsin will always stand as one of the best ! :)

A M57,Yugo copy of Russian TT,when I was 10.It has VERY VERY strong recoil.Because I was too young to shoot gun with recoil like that,I ended up with bloody forehead :)

first gun I ever shot.

My Uncle's Mauser .22 single-shot training rifle, that he brought back from the war, when I was about 10. We would shoot .22 shorts at stuff floating in a ditch near his house. The first time I smelled that powder when the cartridge ejected hooked me. Still love that smell!

My first was an H&R .22 9 shot revolver. I was 9 or 10. (36 or 37 years ago)

Funny thing about that revolver. My dad owned a gas station when I was very young. One day a fellow came in and offered him the gun for a tank of gas.

My father still has that old H&R. ;)

a wallyworld 12ga single shot without rubber pad on it.

i was the 15yr old german ... so they let me shoot the "Mule" first,
put a magnum shell into it too......:)

later on that day they let me shoot all kinds of wonderful guns, ( including semi-goose guns a garand and a M-14)
but my friends granpa thought it would be fun to first see the look on my face an
the bruise on my shoulder......( ... but it´s not like i´m exactly a lil guy)

They sure hoarded some nice guns in the sticks of Appalchia ....
... all lost in that tragic boat accident, of course....

Eastern Arms single shot 20 ga. shotty. Bought it from an uncle who used to take me small game hunting with it back in the mid-50's.

When I was 4 years old right around the 4th we had a family picnic at my maternal grandparents farm. Lots of family shooting at old junk cars in the back yard that were out in the back 40. Grandfather held up a 30 M1 Carbine and let me shoot the entire 40 round MAG before I was through.:D I still have great memories of that day AND that Inland M1.resides in MY safe now.:D I shot off a couple 40 RD MAGs into an old junk car this morning for old times sake. Wished Gramps was at my side still. I miss him every day, taught me all that stuff bout firearms and reloading like it's supposed to happen though:D.

Some form of BB gun when I was 6. An HK .22 mag semi auto and a Winchester....model 1906, I believe....pump action 22 rifle from then till 9, then I got handed a break action 20 gauge and slew Bambi, the first of many.

Dad's single shot .22LR rifle, age six or so. No idea of the brand or model.

Followed by dad's WWII 1911 a year or two later (about 1967-68)...Colt, of course. :)

Happy Birthday, America.

Happy Independence Day, Americans. Cherish it.
