Would you kindly explain how you could score 93/100 with 13 shots when the possible for each shot is 10 points? For 13 shots a perfect score would seem to be 130/130.

NICE shooting! What are the secondary smaller holes on the target and what is your shooter?

We reuse targets that aren't shot out. They're just 22 holes from a previous shooter that i didn't bother patching out since it easy to spot the difference lol

What do you mean, my shooter?

Thanks junkman, thought I was clear. Freddy, we have so many names for gun's over here it would take a book to complete the list. Gat, Peacemaker, Equalizer, Rod, Smokewagon, Saturday Night special, etc, etc..anyone else want to enhance the list?

I thought thats what you meant, its just i thought since we were in the Official Walker thread, it was a weird question :p

Freddy, I didn't realize that Walkers were used in serious competition. I thought 51's and 60's were preferred for open tops in that category.

I did the gold inlay on my Colt Dragoon, and silver on my Colt 1851 Navy. I think it looks good. But the more I see :scrutiny: of the Walkers with the white metal cylinder, no bluing, the more I am liking them.

New Member, First Post

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I ran across the “The High Road” a few weeks ago and have enjoyed all the posts and information. I have a Ueberti Walker, so I thought I would make my first post here.

I purchased my Walker from Cabellas about three years ago. I shot a few rounds through it and put it away. This fall I took it out and sand bag tested it for group, and across the chronograph. Because real black powder is impossible to find in this area, I am shooting Triple 7 3F at the recommendation of a friend.

I started with fifty grains and the gun shot a six round one hole group at fifteen paces. It seemed kind of hot so I started backing off. At forty grains, the group opened up a little, and it felt a little more reasonable. The chronographed difference was only 36 fps. There was still the big roar, lots of smoke, lots of flame, and lots of fun. I figure I can always go back to fifty grains if I need to shoot horses in a combat situation. In reading the posts, and I have not read all 129 pages, it appears other guys/gals who shoot triple seven settled on forty grains.

This is my experience with the Walker. I also shoot and 1851 Navy, and 1860 Army.

I am aware of the Walker Club, but people tell me I “do not play well with others.”

Take care and have a happy holiday season.

Earlier today I was directed to some information on the dating of Italian proof marks, by which I was able to date my Walker. It turns out that it's the same age as me, having been made in 1971. This is rather pleasing, particularly as I encountered it by chance.

robhof

My 2nd only trip to the range with my new to me walker; only 10yds using round ball.454 and 40gr of 2f Goex(only real black I got). shoots high and Lt, but Ky windage and the rest were in the orange.

My Walker

Scrat

Here is the picture of my Walker you requested. It looks kind of plain though after seeing the gold inlayed Walker you posted. I think I will keep it plain.

Crossfire, the best way to keep a shooter. Many yrs ago a very good friend of mine got a new 44 mag revolver and had it gold inlayed, looked beautiful til he ran a box of ammo through it. I've also seen a few very high end inlayed shotguns with bits if inlay missing.
