First, I should say that I didn't vote for Trump (I didn't vote for Hillary, either).
While I am concerned about the Second Amendment, I am getting more concerned about the Fifth Amendment: "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself,
nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation
.
This makes two Presidents in a row that don't seem to understand a fairly straightforward statement. Obama with his "no-fly, no-buy" list; now Trump with seizure first; due process later.
I recall what Donald Trump told the
NRA convention last April. The NRA's "true friend and champion in the White House" has now thrown the NRA under the bus. He called for a the government to follow an unconstitutional path to deprivation of civil rights by innuendo without allowing the citizen to argue in their own defense.
It doesn't matter whether you are a Trump supporter or not. In fact, it might even be better if you do support him. All of us who are gun owners need to contact our representatives and let them know where we stand.
