I live in Seattle where we have weird Liberals; there has always been an extensive liberal gun culture here. That's why despite being an overwhelmingly liberal city for decades if not forever we don't have strict, oppressive gun control. The voters won't stand for strongly anti-gun candidates, even Liberal ones. There have been exceptions to this occasionally, but they get slapped down pretty quick. That being said I have seen concrete evidence that even more liberals are buying guns, because a lot of them have consulted me about it.
This has been particularly prevalent in the LGBT community, where I am sad to report that their fears are not groundless. Because of the popular perception of Trump, true or not, a lot of serious creeps have taken his election as a ratification of their own twisted views. Since the election eight people that I know, mostly non-whites women or in the LGBT community, have been harassed, assaulted, even sexually assaulted by self-proclaimed Trump supporters. This has led me to seriously consider that other such reports may be true. Yeah, there's always been these wingnuts out there, but some of them have been emboldened by Trump's election.
A lot more liberals in my broader circle of acquaintance now 'get' the 2nd Amendment in a way they never did before, and any way I slice it that's a good thing.
PS- yes, we have our share of idiots who are also Liberals. A certain percentage of any population are morons, and since we have more Liberals here more of the idiots are liberals.
