I would imagine the answer is “no” but wanted to check with UK members before calling the embassy.
My wife asked me if I could hand load a box of ammunition for one of her brothers for Christmas. I make up nice little boxes with labels etc.
So, does anyone know if I can non-commercially import a box of ammunition in a caliber corresponding to a firearm on my BIL’s Firearms Certificate (ie a non-prohibited caliber) into the UK mainland without me having a Visitor’s Permit?
Edit for clarity: we will travel to the UK from the US by commercial air end of next week. So I would travel with ammunition in checked bag, if importation were allowed.
I will verify with Embassy.
Thank you.
