I’m guessing some of you guys never heard of the “minimalist” concept...or clearly choose to ignore it..
But I see it this way...when I go to the range alone, I only bring a few guns I plan to focus on, be they rifles or handguns, and 4 trips out of 5, I’ll only have handguns. I have an ammo bag that originally a tool bag I got when I bought my cordless drill. Sturdy and holds as much ammo as an ammo can.
I have three different gear bags, a MidwayUSA large and medium bag and a Maxpedition type small bag. Unless I’m bringing (hosting) other people with me, I only grab one bag depending on the guns I plan to shoot.
this is the “medium bag I use 75% of the time. My wife has her own bag this size. We’ve had them for 10+ years and they are still serving well!

This is a lot like the smallest bag I use and is a great little range bag for a couple handguns and stuff:

I’ve bought a few LAPG “bailout bags” for gear a few years ago and are excellent value for a smallish bag. Good assortment of colors too:

All are house brands that regularly go on sale...
YMMV
