With all the evocative/provocative/inflamatory slogans people get on bumper stickers and shirts, why doesn't there seem to be any that simply say, "Responsible Armed Citizen?"

Probably considered provocative. Also says, "Break in here." Mind you, the 'Insured by Smith and Wesson bumper sticker I had long ago did nothing. Didn't help either.

It probably doesn't fit the mindset of the people that put bumper stickers on their cars.

Personally I don't like the term "responsible" when it comes to guns lol. Just because it is too closely associated with the anti-gun control push where 'responsible' and 'common sense' go hand and hand with more gun control. Just my 2 cents.

Now as for 'advertising', well I carry concealed but still wear gun swag so I don't mind stuff like that. If I'm out on a Saturday afternoon it's not like I'm super concerned with someone 'making me' although I don't believe anyone ever has (aside from the friends that know where I carry my Sig 938).

I fought hard to get Constitutional Carry recently in my State even though I'll probably keep up my permit and wear a Rock out with your Glock out t-shirt at the same time :D

Huh? I see those everywhere. They look like this

No reasonable person would ever deface their car paint with a bumper sticker (well, maybe to cover a bad scratch, dent, or "Rock Us Dukakis" sticker)

I prefer to keep my defensive state confidential. Less chance of being the first person targeted during a violent event. If something happens, the attacker is going to go for the most obvious threat first.

It seems the vast majority of people put stickers on their glass.

A couple of common ones in WY;

Welcome to Wyoming, Consider Everyone Armed

Wolves
smoke a pack a day

Bumper stickers are mostly useless. You are no more likely to change a mind with pithy die-cut vinyl than you are shouting into the echo chamber on a firearms enthusiast board.

Yes, you might find a new shooting buddy if it becomes a topic of conversation with someone who shares your views. They can also invite trouble from those who hold their opposing beliefs equally as strong, but don't share your moral compass.

The risk vs. reward doesn't balance out for me, so I limit my stickers to the frivolous.

I had a bumper sticker from Miller Bait and Tackle but my wife hid it before I could put it on the car (Miller Bait and Tackle - the Master Baiters). Some people (or their spouses) just don't want bumperstickers on their vehicles. Or as the old time movie producer said "If you want to send a message, use a Western Union telegram."
