ALL pistols loaded with expanding HP bullets.

PLUS, an Ithaca 37 Featherweight pump loaded with 12gauge 00 buck sitting unobtrusively in a corner; AND, an A-O 1911A1 in .45acp under desk in back room; AND, a S&W Mod. 66 .357mag stashed in livingroom. Couple of car guns - front and trunk hideaway - usual phone-connected home security system, miscellaneous motion detectors triggering sound alarms or outside floodlights, the latter items are battery operated and NOT tied into phone lines.

And, we both have personal carry permits valid in all but 3 or 4 states. I think that about covers ALL bases. Any suggestions?

Best regards from the "Gunshine State" ~ ~ ~ 45Broomhandle

A Glock 19 with 3 Mags loaded with various big hole punchers, a few AR lowers, and my project 1911 I haven't got around to putting in the safe yet.

My daily carry gun is a Kimber TLE II w/ nite sites, Wilson mags loaded w/ Hornady TAP 230gr hollow points.

It is on the nightstand at night, and at my right hand as I type this.

KI.W., you're from Finland? Is that the same Finland that back in the '40s was under Nazi occupation until the Allied forces changed their plans?

Boy! How time flies!!! Don't even need personal protection, eh? Wonderful!

Immediately available S&W Model 60 with 2 speed loaders and an ammo wallet, next to night stand Defender 1300 with #4 for first few rounds followed by buckshot, attached to Winchester Defender is a Blackhawk sling with additional buckshot rounds, bottom drawer of night stand is my SA Mil Spec with 3 clips. With the Model 60 is a surefire G2 with the 130 lumen bulb (Not 100% sure of the 130 lumen, I bought the upgraded bulb)

By immediately available, I mean its laying on top of the drawer within easy reach of my hand while laying in bed. Each night I remove the gun from the drawer and its holster and place it in its location. Each morning I return the gun to its holster and place it back in the drawer.

My wife doesn't shoot yet, born in Hong Kong, so she is not really a gun person. But she does want to learn as soon as she gets the driving thing taken care of.

At arms reach ColtMK IV Gov. Mod. 230 gr. rd nose, flashlight, and cell phone ! And am ready to use it mentally and phyiscally!( 3 mags full too)

Kevlar pajamas, and 1/4 inch steel walls? In florida you can pretty much fire a 357, 40 or 9, and go through a few houses, since our houses are just stucko on 1/4 inch plywood. I am afraid either you miss the perp and accidentlly take out a neighboor. Possiblly the hydrashocks will stop after expansion, but silvertips and magsafes are about the safest way to go. The main thing is to make it so incovienient to B&E, that they go elsware. Like alarm systems with battery backup, and a dialer on a battery also, motion detectors, sirens and dogs. You can still have your toys at the ready, but a pro will pass.

Remington 870, and Winchester Model 1200 Defender (Beautiful Gun! With polished stainless finish and nice wood stock and fore-end. I love it!) Also both are 12 gauge. Hopefully a .45 ACP will be joining them soon.

My side ... Colt Combat Commander in .45 acp, with 230 grain Gold Dot hollow points.

Her side ... Smith & Wesson Model 66 (.357) 2 1/2 inch Roundbutt , with .38 caliber Gold Dot hollow points.

Nearby ... Remington Model 1100 12 guage with 8 shot extension magazine loaded with 00 buck.

:D
