Where ever the good LORD puts me.
Time for the what's your favorite ____ thread. Today's is. What is your favorite .380 ACP.
To start it off. Mine is the SIG P232. That thing is SO accurate and just really fun to shoot. Yes there are smaller and lighter .380s, but if I was going to carry a .380 I'm going to pick one that has sights and is super accurate. That's mine what's yours?

Colt Gov 380.

The gov 380 is in the upper right. I now have a stainless steel mate to it so I will have to reshoot a shot of just them.

Thin, reliable, accurate, easy to clean.

Sig P238

Colt Mustang Pocketlite

Walther PPK

Three favorites.

Beretta cheetah model 84 I think it was.... 13 shot mag, standard Beretta controls, mid sized gun if that.

For a useful weapon, My Sig P238.

For cool and fun, A M1908 Pocket Hammerless. Sadly I only have a M1903.

Have several 380's and right now my pick is the FEG SMC 380 for all around use and carry. It is rather accurate and feeds all ammo.

For the range, Beretta 84 or 85 or CZ83. For carry S&W Bodyguard 380 or Ruger LCP (although I've lost some confidence in the LCP after finding the magazine released in my pocket a couple of times while carrying it).

Also like the FEG SMC 380 as a Walther PPK wannabe at a much lower price, nice little pistol.

I'd rate the SIG P238 (or the Colt Mustang) as the best of the little 380s at the range, but the Bodyguard or LCP carries better in my pockets.

I have this Shanghai police model Colt 1908 that I have great affection for. It even has a lanyard loop. Colt at that time had a policy so I understand that they refused custom orders, but I suppose if you ordered 3,000 of them the way the Shanghai Police did they made an exception. For a while I tried carrying it sans holster with a parachute cord loop around my neck. Needless to say, that idea didn't last long. Aside from the thing flopping under my shirt I envisioned some big guy coming up behind me and strangling me with my own parachute cord. I've carried the little Colt automatics a lot, but I've never shot anything with them other than a target. These Colt 1908's are quite heavy for their caliber, which makes them very easy to shoot compared to other 380s.

That would be Alessia,,,

Meet Alessia,,,
The name in old Italian means Defender.

Beretta Model 85BB Cheetah,,,
Manual safety,,,
8+1 capacity,,,
DA/SA.

I have a more modern Bersa Thunder 380,,,
And a Ruger LCP as well.

But you asked for my favorite. :D

Alessia was designed in 1976,,,
So the design is 38 years old now,,,
But the gun was and is a solid performer.

Compared to modern aluminum or polymer frame guns,,,
It balances superbly and has very little felt recoil,,,
The weight of the steel frame is steadying.

She is only slightly larger than my Bersa Thunder,,,
So OWB carry is very easily accomplished,,,
But myself, I carry her in a briefcase.

It's at the range where she shines for me,,,
Shooting with her is simply enjoyable,,,
She's as accurate as any other 380.

She's my favorite 380,,,
And that's why. :)
