  1. H&K USP match or a VP9. When all else fails. The Mercedes of pistols.

I would not buy anything too weird or precious. I would want something I could use, not something I would use just once or twice.

So I would get a Sig P210 because I like target shooting. YMMV.

Have fun. It is fun when a small windfall happens and you get to move a bit out of your comfort range.

I’ll +1 a P7 if you don’t have one.

French Manurhin MR 73. These .357 revolvers have an excellent reputation and would certainly be unusual and different than the typical US and South American brands.

Maybe a nice 9mm 1911! Or a good quality .357...like a classic SW model 66....something with character like a well used pre model 10.

It’s tough to know what might fit your collection without really knowing your whole collection.

HK P7, you may have to search/bargain a bit to get one for $1200, but worth it, IMO.

You're not going to touch a P210 for $1200, lol.

Wouldnt recommend a wartime P38 if you are going to shoot it much, they are too prone to cracked slides. Ive had mixed experiences with the PP/ PPK platform...find a "good" one and youre all set, but there are plenty of bad ones out there. Recommend a postwar, Manurhin produced .32 PP if you go that rout.

I think a really nice P5 can be had within your budget- a kinda quirky, neat and uncommon pistol.

Tough to get a really nice Luger for $1100, but a "shooter grade" can be found for a bit less, maybe with enough left over for a reproduction shoulder stock.:)
where can I get a p7 for 1200

Ive seen couple for $1200ish at local pawnshops over the last couple years. Also they pop up on Armslist from time to time, and such sellers are often in need of quick cash and will take much lower offers than whatever they are asking.

It may take patience, vigilance, and negotiating skills, but its possible.

1250 at a local gun shop turns into close to 1400 but that’s still a deal I guess somebody needing to pay there lights may take that kind of loss but realistically the best I’ve seen in a year or two was $1600

Based on the list of what you already own, sounds like you could use some more revolvers in your life.

If ya want to try a single action a Ruger flattop convertible in .357/38 special with an extra 9mm cylinder would be the bee's knees. Something like this.

If single action don't interest you a 4" DA .357 would be a handy gun to have. SW 686 or a gp100 would fill that role nicely.

Than you'd have a few hundred bucks to buy grips holtsters and ammo with any of these options.

New, I’d buy a Ruger Redhawk in .480 and have it cut to 5”

Used, I’d look for an artillery Luger, though I’d probably be spending closer to $1300 if I’m lucky
