With all the 9mm vs 45ACP, 9mm vs 357SIG, 357SIG vs 40S&W threads going, I wonder what is the actual preference for caliber. Unexpanded, 45 cuts the biggest hole, 9mm and 357 are likely to give the most penetration. And don't even get me started on energy numbers on paper.
I definately don't want this to be a platform issue, but round count should play into it. Assuming equal triggers, equal recoil, equal cost of shooting, equal gun size, which would you prefer? I consider myself pretty open-minded... I grew up a 1911/45ACP guy but currently carry a 9mm CZ PCR. And would buy one in 45GAP if available with the same grip size.
