It is my first gun and still works

I know lot of ppl hate berettas, and I respect their opinions. Everyone has different preferences. I have my stainless 92 for 11 yrs and still works flawless.

I gotta admit, I have not owned other type of guns, but with this one I am impressed it works like a good old car. It runs good as it was the first time. All I had to do is replace some springs here and there after so many years and keep it oiled.

West German SIG-SAUER P228 w/high cap's

for all of the above application's!:D

Why?

RELIABILITY

And sometimes I alternate the P228 with my West German
SIG-SAUER .45 caliber P220A as my primary carry piece!
NOT VERY OFTEN, but it does happen~

Either my CZ-75BD or my CZ PCR. I like them because I can't find anything they don't do well. They eat anything I feed them, including steel cased Commie junk ammo. They go BANG every time I pull the trigger. They put a hole where I aim them. They fit my hand. They are affordable. What more could I ask for?:D

P.S. I could say the same things about the several Ruger P series pistols I've owned. However,IMHO, my CZ's are much better looking.

My favorite 9mm and why. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....a toughie.

I haven't fired enough of them to give a really thorough answer to this, but for the ones I've shot and own/ed, these are my favorites in no particular order.

Walther P5 (have shot)- I love this pistol. It is very easy to shoot accurately in both DA/SA. And it ejects forward and to the left.......cool.

Glock 19 (own)- I picked up a used one about 6 months ago and am very glad I did. For a compact 9mm stuffed w/ a boatload of rounds, this gun is hard to beat. I'm getting used to the Glock trigger and I'm finding I really enjoy shooting it. Groups are getting much better. Am considering getting a 2nd G17 to compliment the G19.

HK P7 (lucky enough to shoot once at the range) - This is one of the Holy Grail pistols for me. When shooting this thing, it just felt like a precision machine. The only downside for this pistol, is how fast it heats up.

CZ 75SA - I haven't shot this pistol (yet), but I've got the same thing in .40. This is on my short list for my next pistol. Super ergo's, light trigger, reliable, and accurate. What more could you want?

Smith and Wesson Model 39 - 2. Lightweight, beautiful design and reliable. Since some forces carried it in Nam (the silenced "Hush puppy") it even has its part in Military History. I have many 9mm guns, but I'll never sell this one.

My Hi Power. It is completely reliable, fits me like a tailored suit, and it the most beautiful gun made, IMO. It is a sheer joy to shoot. I'm smitten.

I use it mainly just for bedside duty, but in another year I think I'll carry it. Other than that, it's my stress reliever.

My favorite ammo for plinking is the WWB value pack. It's good stuff and it's pretty clean. For defense, I like WWB Self-Defense JHPs and if I had to go even more potent, I'd go for the Hornady 115-gr XTP JHP.

I haven't used many others, but have heard good things about the Winchester SXTs, Remington Golden Sabers, Speer Gold Dots, and Federal Hydra-Shocks. They are expensive, however.

I've decided that I don't trust the 9mm as the best fight stopper available in a handgun.
YMMV

So, the guns should be as small as possible.
Used for CCW, backup gun, pocket carry, etc.

Use a .45 acp for home defense and belt/IWB carry.

I voted other, because my current favorite, (and only) 9mm is the Kahr PM9.

I think I really have to go with my CZ PCR or P-01, Great out of the box accuracy, fit and functi0on and reliability, a close second would have to be a sig 228 for the same reasons.

It's a toss up between the P226 and P228.

Reliability and ergonomics are what did it for me.

They're used for home defense and plinking.

Ammunition choices include Federal Hydrashoks and Speer Gold Dots.

Been shootin' and carryin' for many, many moons, and I've determined for me that the Glock 26 is the perfect handgun.

For hunting, other's would be better suited, of course.

I like my Beretta 92 FS as it fits my hand well.

However everything else I own in 9mm is a WWII gun.

I have held the Sigs but not fired them (have shot a Sig .40 gun) and they feel nice too.

Poll is trying to find too much

IMHO. Then again I'm a data geek (at least I play one at work).

Too many roles , maybe you are looking for an all around winner? My carry choice would differ from my competition choice would differ from my HD would differ from my aesthetic choice would differ from my value choice would differ .... you get my point?

Also, you have left off some pretty fine weapons. Walthers, HK's, Kahr's, 1911's (this is NOT blasphemy :) ), CZ's, XD's, etc.

But if I did vote nostalgia would tip me to the BHP, but I'm shooting my P99 best right now.

Ammo hmmmm, I have some black hills I got after seeing ammolabs reports on it. Starting to consider the RBCD, but would like a bit more data on it first.

Accuracy, hmmm I'm know marksman. I reload so if I wanted accuracy I'd go that route.

Competition = cheap/reliable = Winchester white box or my own if I've had time to reload.

CZ, and it's clone brother, the Tanfoglio. Best grip ergonomics - fit me like a glove - totally reliable and accurate, and just darn fun, too!
Had a CZ75 Compact 9mm, will have another when $ come back....:)

Glock.....100% reliable,no safety to screw around with,hi-cap(if you can afford them)easy to clean(if you want to).......light,durable.......accurate,cool looking tactical evil black........plus I never thought I'd be a plastic gun owner...I've been converted...I'm actually considering carrying a glock as my CCW..........go figure:cool:
