I have everyone on that list and the Sig 228 is my favorite. With the Glock 17 being second.

All are fine weapons, but the 228 fits me better then any of the others

Ruger p95 in stainless. Absolutely reliable, easy to maintain, more accurate than I am at this point, high caps are inexpensive and widely available, fits my individual hand well. Just don't have any complaints at all. Close second would be my S&W 6906 in stainless.

"What's your favorite 9mm and why?"

That would be a SIG P210 and if you don't know why then you have never shot one. It is strictly a range gun, though I have thought about using it in IDPA. The problem is that you give a little ground with the heel butt mag release and a bunch not having a 10 round magazine.

Self defense ammo choice would be RBCD.

I tried my P-210-6 in IDPA, and it was OK, but the 8-round mags were a bigger issue than the european-style mag release. Other guns in that class/division typically hold 10 rounds, and it can make a difference.

Another issue was the sights -- when you handle the gun a lot, as with reloads, racking the slide, etc. -- you can get sliced a bit. (I dulled the edges with a file, and that seemed to solve the problem.)

They are so darned accurate...

A P-210-8 would be my choice: US style mag release and improved sights. But they could upwards of $4000. As good as they are, I don't think they're THAT good.

My favorite now is a custom CZ-75B SA. In all honesty, it shoots as well as my P-210-6 did, and the trigger is just as good. (It is THAT good because a gifted gunsmith worked on it...) I sold the P-210-6 and bought a pickup. I've kept my CZs.

Browning Hi-Power. Goes bang every time. Accurate. Narrow body to the gun that fits my not-large hands.

CZ-75

- Excellent Reliability
- Superb Accuracy
- Low Cost
- Great pointability & balance
- Nice Styling
- Full Sized
- Factory .22LR kit (Kadet)
- Has an actual thumb safety, no decocker

I keep it loaded with +P Proload 125gr. HPs for SD. I like this round because it's powerful, accurate and has an excellent rated Speer Gold Dot bullet.

I am certainly not no expert here.....but I bought a S&W 3913TSW from the recommendations from a good friend and alot of good people from this site.
With that said......I truly love this gun.Carrying it in a high ride holster....you do not even know it is there and it shoots very good !

Other.

Heck, I've got sooooo many different 9mm's that it is impossible to pick just one fave!! :D
But, I'll give it a go!! ;)
I would say that it would have to be my (drum roll please) Walther P5!!!

I generally don't carry a 9mm any more. That duty falls to either my Glock 36 or Colt Commander clone, but I like to shoot my 9s.
The P5 is a single stack, which makes it easier to hold, as I have smallish hands. It is very accurate and reliable. I do carry it occasionally in a Bianchi Shadow II holster.
The only drawback is that magazines are near impossible to find and expensive when you do.
It's a good thing I bought a bunch years ago when you could find them at gun shows, CDNN, and the like, and I was flush with bucks!!! :D

Hi Power

For general purpose use, the Hi Power is easily the best pistol for me to do my best with. Its' handling characteristics and performance are above and beyond. The Smith 3913 series is pretty good too, and conceals better.

CZ 75BD for accuracy, reliability, durabililty, overall quality of construction and price!

I don't own one yet But I will have to vote for the P-11 Kel-Tec.

Cost effective and light weight. I personally feel the 9mm is best suited for a small lightweight pistol.

Now if they can only manage to shrink it down closer to their P3At.

For recreational shooting and/or introducing new shooters to centerfire pistols, I like either the Taurus PT92/99 or the CZ75 and EAA clones.

For daily carry, I like the Kahrs, esp the P9 covert.

Ammo-wise, S&B and Winchester ball for play and shooting at paper and Speer 124 Gr +P Gold Dots should I need to shoot at something more intent on harming me.

How do I reply to this? I like my Walther P88, feel the Sig P228 is the best of the Sigs, adore my BHPs, but I have been known to carry a Kahr E9 or K9. I guess I will go with the one I carry most, the Kahr. Regards, Richard:D

Sig 226

Reliable

Durable

Hi cap mags cheap & readily available

Balances good & fits my hand

Good looking

This really put me on the spot.

I voted Glock but I have to say the following.

I have a Cylinder & Slide custom High Power and i have shot one just like it in copetion since 1980. My heart is here and I shoot almost nothing as well if not better, however it is not a stock gun and if it was it would not hold the same place in my heart or hands.

I have a Bauska Arms CZ-75 that I have had since 1987. I it is reliable cheap accurate and big. Love it but don't carry it much anymore.

I came to Golcks late had a friend gift a G19 to me several years ago. I don't shoot it quite as well as the other two but it is compact, light, reliable and I have been completely unable to rust it even in Las Vegas heat. I now have two G19's and one G23 they are great equipment and replaceable (which the first two are not.

I have a few 9mm's in various flavors and I really like them all but one stands out from the rest. That is my S&W 547 revolver.
