I tried my P-210-6 in IDPA, and it was OK, but the 8-round mags were a bigger issue than the european-style mag release. Other guns in that class/division typically hold 10 rounds, and it can make a difference.
Another issue was the sights -- when you handle the gun a lot, as with reloads, racking the slide, etc. -- you can get sliced a bit. (I dulled the edges with a file, and that seemed to solve the problem.)
They are so darned accurate...
A P-210-8 would be my choice: US style mag release and improved sights. But they could upwards of $4000. As good as they are, I don't think they're THAT good.
My favorite now is a custom CZ-75B SA. In all honesty, it shoots as well as my P-210-6 did, and the trigger is just as good. (It is THAT good because a gifted gunsmith worked on it...) I sold the P-210-6 and bought a pickup. I've kept my CZs.
