Other, specifically my new Rohrbaugh R9-s. Perfectly made, perfect CCW size, perfect design, all metal, light, and on and on and on.... (Can you tell that I like it...? :D )

My current favorite 9mm SD ammo is Speer GoldDot 124gr, but I have to admit that I've never had to use it for its intended purpose.

I have four 9mm guns, but by far and away my fav. has got to be the old beat up series 70 Colt 1911 I managed to pick up a few years back. Utterly reliable with Federal's American Eagle 124 gr FMJ. Stuff a few of Federal's 135 gr. +p Tactical JHP's in it for defense and I feel very warm and fuzzy.....

The gun that is fun and cheap to shoot WILL get shot more than the others

My Browning HP. The best grip, best trigger (now that the horrible factory trigger's been fixed), best accuracy, and best looking pistol in the stable. My CZ-85 Combat is a close runner up.

Beretta works for me.

I like the regular 92FS but the Vertec fit my hands better. I've shot friend's Glocks, SIGs, you name it but this is the one that I'm most comfortable with. It's my daily carry.

My pref. is a double preference: Glock 19 w/highcap and Keltec P-12 (that is the P-ll with the extra round in the mag).

My personal favorite ammo is the quickshock and winchester white box combination.

double trouble, doubled up. :what:

My first 1911 was a SA loaded in 9mm. Incredibly accurate with 124 gr bullets, +P is even better. Everyone who shoots it loves it. Still my favorite handgun. My SA XD Sub 9 is a close second.

Of the pistols mentioned above that I am familar with, I'd be happy with any of them. While I too prefer the .45, I'm fine with a 9mm. My favorite is the P7M8.

It feels like it was made for my hand.

I really like the paddle style magazine release.

I love the way it points and the low bore axis is phenominal. Both of these factors lead to fast, accurate shooting.

The squeeze cocking mechanism allows the firearm to be 'safed' when desired but when needed it acts similar to placing a DA pistol instantly in single action, giving a great, consistant trigger pull from shot to shot. Although some would rightly argue a manual safety lever is not necessary -and I would agree for the most part- there are some times when I am wearing sweats or otherwise don't want to snap on a holster and IMO the P7 is one of the best for mexican style carry if you really have to...

It's every bit as reliable as a pistol can be, the same I feel with all the aforementioned platforms.

I do not see this pistol as an ultimate fight stopper or a peerless combat weapon. I see it as a parachute... if worse comes to worse and I don't have my reload, it's 5 shots for the main chute and 4 shots for the reserve.

Finally, some say that the 1911 creates a mind/body relationship with the shooter like no other pistol. I would argue that the P7M8 comes very close, if not equal to it once you tune in to the manual of arms.

Again, I feel that there are so many great pistols out there that it's really a close call... I could easily go with a G19, P228, P2000, P99, ETC. and be very happy and secure... but the P7M8 does this AND satisfies my itch for a 9mm.

just IMO...
cheers

Ditto the Sig P228; the factory 10-rounders and Win Whitebox ammo work fine for me!

no cougars??

the beretta cougar "L" is my current fave...seems a bit underrated..but does perform very well in 115 FMJ in any brand and feels very strong with 124 gold dots..

What kind of poll is this???

No CZ's

CZ-85 Combat ... Thats my favorite. :neener:

It fits my hand better than any other gun I have tried. And it shoots GREAT:D

P7M8 is too crudely made for me. A SIG P210 is more my style. :D

Seriously, my next 9mm is probably going to be a BHP. They are reliable and I like their subjective feel alot.

You did not include enough Manufacturers on your list. I like my S&W940 the best but would like to get any of the following
BHP
Luger
S&W 39-2

I have a Glock 19 and it is a great and sturdy gun but no asthetic appeal like any of the above.

I am kind of partial to Speer 124 gr +p Gold Dots.

Browning High Power.

It's reliable and no other semiauto feels as good. IMHO, it is the autoloader perfected.

Well, I like Glocks. (Never owned a 9mm in one, though.) I shoot them well, they work, and they carry well.

I like the Beretta 92. I shoot it well.

Kahr's 9's are very refined, have good triggers, and are easy to carry.

I plan on getting a CZ 75 some day.

I lust after a 9x23 Winchester- if I get a 1911, may it be in this caliber.

Favorite defensive ammo is EFMJ. Really good stuff, not the fastest or most dramatic, it just always works as designed. Right now, I have lots of Gold Dots, though, because it performs well, and I can get it pretty cheaply.

Would have to be the P7M8 with P35 being a close 2nd.

Favorite IDPA 9 is a '70 Series Colt Govt. with P7 a not distant 2nd.

My guns in this caliber are a Glock 19, a SIG P228 and a Kahr E9. I like the Glock the best, but only by a tiny margin, due to better fit in my hand than the SIG. The Kahr really fits a different niche due to its size and lower cartridge capacity, but I like it too.
