Browning HP hands down if I can only own one classic. Walther P88 is my favorite carry 9m/m. Also thinking of checking out the Bersa thunder 9. Test fired one a few days ago and looks like i'm gonna get hooked.

Browning HP would be my choice as well but since it wasnt on the list the next best option for me would be a glock.

Beretta of the ones listed----you should have other on your poll or at least put SIG and HK.:uhoh:

Strange poll. None of those guns would really fall into the category of "If money were no object"

I put Beretta >

I like the grip feel better on the CZ75, but have never shot one. If I'm getting one of those, it'd probably be the P01, not the 75B. The only thing I don't like about them is that the slide is hard to grip hard enough to rack it with the hammer down.

The Beretta, while a bit less comfortable to me, is easy to grip the slide on, and is well made and accurate.

I had a Glock; (34) didn't bond with it. It was reliable, but I couldn't shoot it well enough at 25 yds. to satisfy me. The feel of it was nothing special either. The plastic they use is kind of slick (not in a good way) and they just didn't put much effort into ergonomics.

I would probably take my humble 9mm Charles Daly Hi-Power over any of them, even though it is only a $300 gun. It is just so easy to shoot well. I guess the SA CZ75 would probably be just as good, but again, that slide riding inside the rails makes it hard to grip for me.

Dang, so it looks like Hi Power and CZ are top competitors. I can't afford the Hi Power, but I do like the CZ-75 . I'm guessing you guys aren't huge Glock fans ?

EDIT: Just added a poll. The Browning Hi Power seems popular, but I can't afford it so it was excluded. Sorry if your favorite pistol isn't in the poll, but please still post it. I would like to keep my options open, but these are 5 of the pistols that I'm interested in at the moment.

Do not give up on the BHP. Looking at your list it looks like you are tryin to keep in under $500.

I paid under $450 for this:

It is a Isreali import which has been reblued. All it needed was to have the mag disconnect knocked out of it and it was good to go. There are a lot of these in varying condition but if you look around you can find nice ones under $400. They will show finish wear but will run great. The other is to keep an eye out and be ready to pay cash when the right deal comes up.

I got another BHP on the way. It is a practical. If you are willing to buy used there are HI Powers in your price range.

Actually I love my G 26. But as long as I don't have to carry it all day, I prefer shooting my 75B. I'd rather have the CZ in a really bad situation because I shoot it more accurately and can keep it on target. They both are good tools. If I could afford one, I'd like a STI. One of these days.......

Hey guys, the CZ-75 is really tugging at my wallet lol. Which one would you go with, the CZ-75B or the CZ-75B SA single action version? It would be mostly a range gun, so I'm not worried about safety issues.

Money no object? Then the one on the right (Beretta 92 Steel I, sao and frame-mounted safety). Money tight or going to war? Then the one on the left (Glock 17):

None you had to offer

Sig 225 and 229
A 3rd gen S&W 3906 followed by a 1st gen S&W 59
I own a BHP, a older one made in the early 80's. Bluing is about gone on the grip. Shoots great works all the time every time.
Nice gun but I just get the love that people have for that handgun.
OH well what do I know!:neener:

I find the CZ75B trigger reach rather long in double action so I would only use it in single action mode.

However, that little almond of a thumb safety the 75B has is not nearly as easy to operate as shelf type thumb safety of a 1911 or even the 75B S/A.

I would pick the 75B S/A due to the better controls, with the understanding that the slide profile is a little different and may require some effort to find a holster.

The H&K P7 PSP qualifies as my favorite pistol, period. The ingenious manual of arms sold me.

This is like sending a kid into a large candy store and telling him/her that they can only come out with one single piece of candy. It's just cruel.

I voted 75B, though my true favorite (FNP-9M) isn't on there, and I REALLY like the Glock 19 and 26. I had a 23 and a 27, they were awesome. I just assume the 19/26 would be equally good but a bit lighter in recoil.

I would have to say my Browning Hi-Power MkII though I just picked up a Walther P88 and am picking up a Sig P228, so I'll just have to hit the range to confirm this. Might take a few trips and many, many rounds though. No pain, no gain! :)
