In 9mm I just bought a M&P 9L not to long ago and have been fairly impressed with it. Right now I don't really have a desire for any other 9's but if I did plan on buying something I would have to say it would be a 1911. I have them in several other calibers except 9mm.

I own both a Glock 19 and a Browning Hi Power....its a hard pick, but the BHP gets the nod. ....

I've owned a P38, Astra 600, Browning BDM & Hi Powers, Colt 1911's in 9mm, Beretta 92C, Glock 19, Luger, HK P7, Walther P99, S&W 39's, and SIG P239. Many were great guns, but I am now down to the Browning Hi Power and Walther P99 (both excellent in their own right). I always thought the Sig's were a little bulky, and the Glocks great for the most part, but neither have "personality"; they are both just boringly functional.

For range and fun, it's my 1911 9mm Kimber Target II
For CCW, it's the P7M8
For a great double stack, it's a Sig 226.

Didn't leave me the CZ option, or any other alloy frame, but this is my Every Day Carry, CZ P01 and CZ PCR. And CZ logo marked Benchmade Resistor. :)

There are a bunch of cool 9mm pistols so this is a "loaded" question.

There are only about 30 that I would like to own. The HK P7, several CZ's, a Kahr P9...the list goes on and on.

The one that I shoot the best is the XD9. It is as though they used my hand for the mold.

hi-power

Awesome.

I have to say it does my heart good to see the Hi-Power holding out against all the wunder-9/polymers.

I Am a big fan of the M&P 9mm full size. handles recoil very well and Decent Accuracy for the buck

My t-series BHP, purchased in 1968 (at MCRD San Diego), and carried as my personal weapon on several cruises flying off carriers in The Gulf (the OTHER gulf), gets my vote. After I retired in '74, it sat in my sock drawer for thirty-some years, still loaded with Navy ball (as were the other two magazines). Then, some seven years ago, I again became interested in loud noises and bright flashes. I shoot it (and one of the S&W revolvers I bought) weekly at an indoor range. Its blueing is still capable of swallowing me whole, and its mechanics are still perfect, but it has changed rather a lot. I had a local gunsmith install Cylinder & Slide's SFS kit, and I put a set of Crimson Trace grips on it too. Each of these are immense improvements on the original, with the SFS kit leading. If FN Herstal, the inventor of the SFS configuration as well as the High Power itself, had marketed its SFS pistols better it would still be king of the road. Instead, it went into competition with Browning, its wholly-owned U.S. distributor, and lost! Go figure.

Cordially, Jack

I have no intention at all of selling off my CZ Shadow. It's a fantastic gun.

If I were to provide it with a brother it would likely be an STI Trojan in 9mm. I've shot the one the rent-a-gun range has and it's amazing.

For whatever reason, I still shoot my Browning Hi-Power better than any other centerfire semi-auto I own.

There are other pistols I find more practical for various reasons but the Hi-Power has been my hands-down favorite for many years now.
