Over penetration myth?
I have to ask. I understand over-penetration is a concern but would a standard JHP LEO loading have enough energy to hurt/kill a bystander after penetrating through 12+ inches of bad guy? And, are there any cases that someone can name where a good guy's bullet went all...
I work for a small dept in LV. The issue weapon is the sig 229 but we're allowed to carry from a wide list. Most of the officers that carry their own weapon chose the .45 (with most carrying the HK USP 45). I carry the glock 21/30 system. I see the major issues law enforcement agencies have...
Go glock 19 and call it a day. Then they can take some extra time and give the grunts the training needed to handle the weapon, no need for an external safety. To me the whole external safety argument is stuck in the past. :banghead:
Keep the Sig but carry as many mags as you can fit on your belt I'd say have a quad mag holder on your bely and keep a couple 10 rounders in your war bag. Once your through whatever training you have to endure get the glock. I started my career three years ago carrying a 226 .40. Had some...
All major self-defense/LEO calibers are insufficient to stop bad guys in my opinion. I'm a LEO and one of the first things we learn is that a handgun is a defensive weapon only. If you're going into a situation where you know there could be trouble you should always grab a shotgun or a rifle...
I'm a LEO and I trust my life to a Glock 21 every day. As far as reliability goes this speaks for itself http://www.theprepared.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=90&Item
About 6 years ago I put a .40 hydrashock through my ceiling. I was SURE my gun was unloaded when I pulled the trigger. NDs happen to even the best safest shooters its a fact of life for anyone handling weapons day in and day out. All you can do is best as safe as you can, check, check, and...
