What is your favorite gun

The nearest revolver. I’m having a blast just mentally putting together the model 10 competition-ish gun. I have the parts coming on Christmas Day from a few sources. I have the tools and technical ability at my disposal to make it all work. Now I’m just hoping that I’m not burning money for the sake of burning money. I need to make sure I tally up and take pics as I build it.

I have to say that I do believe my Ruger PC Carbine has become my favorite long gun. I just love shooting it. My favorite long gun platform is lever action.
In handguns I like old and new revolvers and autoloaders, but if you were to pin me down I would have to say I dearly love my S&W revolvers over my beloved Glocks.

And that’s another point, does anyone have a specific platform they like better than any other? Is it wheel guns? Modern tactical? Blue steel and walnut?
i like most guns lol. my last cz 527 7.62x39. tell more about your ruger. i love my tang safety in 7x57.

Mine depends on the day and what I’m planning to do....

If I’m duck hunting, it’s my Nova.
If I’m dove hunting, my Winchester model 50 or 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge.
If I’m pig hunting, one of my big bore Marlins.
If I’m going to shoot yotes, my T/C Venture in .223.
If I’m deer hunting in Arkansas, Marlin 1894.
If I’m pistol training with my brother, RIA 10mm or XD-45.
If I’m shooting pistols for fun, RedHawk 44Mag.
If I’m shooting rifles for fun, Pedersoli Sharps.
If I’m shooting military rifles, Trapdoor saddle ring carbine or Krag carbine.
If I’m shooting for memories, my S&W Model 20 my grandfather left me. Or my first rifle, a Winchester M70 Classic Sporter.
If I’m just putting rounds down range, AR-15 or AR-10.

So I guess I don’t have a favorite. I like all types.

And that’s ok too. I have a Remington sportsman 48 for clays, a S&W mod 10 for CCW, but that 77 would keep me in rabbit stew for a really long time (if I was to take it hunting).

870TB, bought in 1975, shot for "everything" for years, has taken pheasant, deer, dove, quail, duck, and a dozen club trap championships. The only original parts after all this time is the barrel and buttstock as everything else has broken, cracked, or somehow been worn beyond repair. Got a new receiver from Remington this fall just in time for the club championship shoot (took second, darn it).

Pistol? The 5.5" bull-barrel Ruger 22/45. Not only from a love for Ruger pistols (despite the Mk3's tiresome takedown), but it was a birthday gift from my dad.
Rifle? My Mosin Nagant M44. Plain but simple, and nothing short of being run over with military hardware will break it. If it stops working, just figure out where the issue is and hit it there.
Shotgun? I'm a fan of Mossberg pumps, but my particular favorite is the Stevens 5100 (the 311 after 1941) previously and once again in my dad's possession. The reason: an un-air-conditioned Florida storage unit ruined it while he stored it but I rescued the nearly unrecognizable receiver and terrible stock, and restored it to better than he had ever seen it. Limited capacity and weak barrels aside, the look of gratitude and pride when I presented it made a lasting preference more solid than years of reliable function from anything else.

Overall--and this is from an engineer's, basic machinist's, and pragmatic point of view--my favorite platform by far is the AK. Yes, they're crude and could use a couple updates, but they fit me, my hands know where to go like they were trained in a previous life, and anyone that has ever seen a movie or even heard a good description of a gun can learn to operate it with less than five minutes of examination.

Since just “Guns” would be too general, I’ll say hand guns.
More specifically, revolvers.
Subset: Smith & Wesson revolvers.
Sub subset: Pre-lock Smith & Wesson revolvers.
Sub subset two: Pre-lock “J” frame Smith & Wesson revolvers.
Sub subset three: Pre-lock round butt “J” frame Smith & Wesson revolvers.
Sub subset four: Pre-lock round butt “J” frame Smith & Wesson revolvers with 3” barrels.
I think that pretty much covers it.

My EDC is a 24" brrl stainless SPS R700 in 7-08 BDL with a B$L 3-9X40 on top shooting,130g cast RNFP @2600fps with a healthy dose of Varget.

Got slews of target and hunting rigs in the safes but,the above is never out of my sight. Not fancy, not too bad on the weight although the scope is a touch "fat"..... but is a bug holer.

I have so many that I really like that it's pretty much whichever of those I'm holding at the moment I'm asked..

Never been able to choose beyond that.

Too hard to narrow it down to one but I certainly have a few favorites:

Colt AR15 SP1 Sporter .223
Ruger 10/22
Rossi Model 92 .45 Colt
Winchester Model 1300 20 Gauge
Colt Combat Commander .45 ACP
Browning Hi-Power
Colt Mustang
Colt Commander .38 Super
CZ P01
SIG P229R 9mm.
Beretta Model 70S
Ruger Mk.II Target MK-512
Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt
Ruger Flattop Blackhawk .44 Special
S&W Model 686
S&W Model 649

Yeah, yeah I know pretty heavy on the handgun selections but I don't hunt anymore, I don't shoot trap anymore; just like to shoot my handguns. And the OP did ask for my favorite; so I took a little literary license and made it plural!
