I am sorry about all the hassle you fellas have to go through. I open carry a loaded pistol around all the time in countless shops and have never, ever, had a problem.

I was reading this article and was wondering. If you have to keep your ammo separate from your gun, what happens if you have to load it to defend yourself? Does that become some felony and then, when your perp dies from your gunshot, does that become murder?

California has provisions in its laws that negate the other regulations on carry if the gun is used in self-defense.

If someone carries a loaded, concealed gun in her purse without a permit, then uses it to stop a rapist or mugger, she cannot be prosecuted for carrying.

If, however, she's caught with the gun and there's no rapist present, she can be charged with a crime (misdemeanor or felony, depending).

So California's laws allow self-defense, but don't allow you to have the gun available for self-defense, legally.

Yes, it's that screwed up.

That's one thing these guys are slowly working to rectify.:)

There is a guy in Los Angeles trying to do the same thing. He calls himself 12gaugelosangeles this guy dosent realize though that police will shoot on sight. The appearance of a holstered pistol alone will get shot at by police in LA county, Trust me I have family and friends there. But most of all this guy claims he's done it? I dont belive him. The law is open carry only when not in a public place within 1000 yards of a school or daycare, good luck finding that in Los Angeles. It dosent help that the guy is a drug dealer, and that Ca states that legal open carry is only for unloaded firearms without a mag in. The guy trying to make the open carry day in Los Angeles is a drug dealer.

Good to know! Thanks bud.

My friend lives in Anacrime and open carries a lot. He never has any trouble.

I don't know if he did it or not. BUT!
It has been done in San Diego numerous times. It has been done all over California.
It is only matter of time before it will be done in LA.
As far as where to carry - my guess would be that entire length of Mullholand drive from 405 and 101 are outside of 1000' zone.

When I was a kid, in the '50s, while working on our ranch, outside Escalon, Calif., I open carried all the time. Even while in town. While hunting in the Sierras, I open carried all the time, even while eating in a resturant or shopping. Heck we all did. It was strange when someone wasn't.

Lordy, Lordy, how things have changed out in the PRK. I moved to South Texas and while I can't open carry, I sure don't have to worry about all those conflicting gun laws.

First, LAPD will not shoot someone for simply "seeing" a holstered pistol, care to back that statement up with some evidence?

Second, other than your expert first hand knowledge of LA County derived from your "family and friends there" what makes you think this guy is a liar?

Third, what makes you think he's a "drug dealer?" I've searched his handle all over multiple engines and have come up with no corroborating evidence. Do you know him personally? If not, what has led you to your conclusion?

Finally, the law states you cannot carry within 1000 feet of a K-12 SCHOOL or on the premises of a University, daycare is not prohibitred by the 1000 fooe rule.

And, municipalities cannot legally preempt State Law

You've got a tremendous amount of inflammatory language in that short post with very little to back it up. Care to provide some substance for us?

Have you been to LA?

The crime rate is very high, drugs and prostitution run the streets there. The person im talking about lives in Highland Park, one of the worst places in LA county. I live in Sacramento and police shoot when they see firearms on civilians. Evidence? Got a LA newspaper? or Sacramento Bee, Becuse they will shoot first, then ask questions in the morgue. Ive lived in TX, NC, GA and here in California. The most strict police officers live in my state and tend to make up the rules as they go along. I dont have a reason to lie about it. I do know him, check myspace his name is Dekode29. Now please enlighten me on what your opinion is. He threatened my wife and children just because he didnt like a myspace video on a Mossberg 500.

I noticed you neglected to answer any of the questions I asked. Can you (pretty please) provide some proof to me that LA County officers are shooting (or have shot) a law abiding citizen who wearing an unloaded pistol in a holster. If you cannot provide proof I'll have to assume none exists and dismiss your rant as simply that, a rant based wholly on emotion and opinion.

For the record I have been to LA, I lived in La Mirada for a time (and Palo Alto but, that's unrelated) and I have to disagree with your assessment of the officers in the county and city. Also, LA doesn't have a "special" crime rate compared to most modern metropolis sized cities, it's on the low average.

Finally, is his name Dekode 29 or 12gaugelosangeles? If you're going to contend that the two names belong to the same person, how did you discover this?

Again, before spouting off misinformation and libelous claims it would serve you well to provide a bit of proof to your accusations and assertions. It just reflects poorly on your character not to.

Hey whats your problem? dont go around acting like a know it all. He goes by both names look its the same person, Are you him because your acting real defensive about the guy. Look into it okay, are you too involved in ranting at me? The guy is the same person, same pictures, same firearms. What else do you need his address? I work in MI and have his personal info after he made death threats. There is no reason for some kid like him to go around making threats to Military Intelligence Officers now is there.

Usually when a person works for a federal agency they dont call them FED's just a little tip for you. And if you really dont work for the federal government expect a knock on your door in the near future. The guy were talking about is dekode29 on myspace and 12gaugelosangeles on youtube. Does that help you our federal friend. Do you want his name, and his family members names? I have them. I can also tell you he only has one firearm registered under his name.

Actually, HKUSP45 is not Dekode 29, he is 12gaugelosangeles. Dekode 29 and 12gaugelosanglese cannot be the same person because I am Dekode 29 and HKUSP45 is not. Also, he and I are both federal agents, but we work for a super-secret division that no one has ever heard of. Not even us.

Which leaves only one question: Is Bass Killer also Gecko45?

Okay, two questions: don't military intelligence officers have to be able to spell and punctuate?

lol!

Im using a phone to type this, im not sitting at a desk with a computer. Well you 2 guys have fun with your make belief federal jobs. I think your both him, sock puppet accounts cute.

Actually I can call the people I work for anything I choose, including the FEDs since it's a federal government agency.

No, I don't know the guy, I just dislike people spreading libelous information without proof. I also dislike people making blanket (and patently untrue) statements about entire police agencies.

Also spreading misinformation about laws is bad form too (like the daycare statement you made earlier).

Lastly, you were the one that brought your personal issues with this guy into the thread. I was just asking you to provide some semblence of actual data to prove your claims.

I will add that this:

Is incredibly childish. For someone in the MI industry I would, frankly, expect just a bit more demeanor and professionalism. I didn't insult you once in our exchange, I merely asked for you to provide proof of your claims but, you chose to stoop to calling me a liar and threatening me with some "scary boogeyman visit" in the near future. Class act, man.

All that said, I will excuse myself from this conversation (if you can call it that). You obviously have a personal problem with this guy and chose to air your laundry here instead of where it belongs.

I didnt threaten you? quit acting like a child. What in the world makes that a threat? Your own thoughts maybe? Grow up. You and .38 are making this into a situation, because you have nothing better to do. If you still live here then please enlighten us with all of your Federal wisdom on California. All im saying is that open carry is a death wish in los angeles. If you want some person to get hurt, arrested or possibly killed then tell everyone to open carry. I dont care! Its not my funeral. I am a military officer and also carry ccw, because i can legally. Give it a break

Police Report

Yeah....no. You're the one making the statement, you're the one responsible for providing backup.

Yes, because that's in the job description of somebody in MI.

When i make a police report about it. Who are you? stay in your hole. And how would you know anything on the subject at hand.

FWIW, I lived most of my life in Los Angeles. It bears no resemblance to Bass Killer's description, although I doubt anyone really needed that verified.

okay...

tell everyone to do it! your wisdom is infinite. Lol! Its a bad idea, thats why we have CCW

OC?

Your carbon copy neighborhoods are really hardcore with all the police and security guards everywhere. I have family in all of LA and the Inland Empire, maybe you should step into another neighborhood sometime? Like the surrounding areas near LAX.

Right...so the fact that you're supposedly in MI had exactly what to do with the rest of the sentence?

Wait, so it's not "LA" like you've been saying it's only certain neighborhoods?

Slow down there, Killer.

at least finish one arguement before you start with another one. your taking on too many issues and not really addressing them properly. Just out of curiosity, did one of your family members or friends get pegged by the police while UOC?
